Summary
Commander Jane Shepard wakes up in the year 2185 to discover that two years have passed, her ship is destroyed, her crew scattered to the far corners of the galaxy, and she has somehow been captured by Cerberus. After a failed attempt to escape the Human Supremacist terrorist organization, she decides to bide her time until she can plan a better exit strategy. In the meantime, she can investigate the mysterious Collectors and see if there's any merit to Cerberus's theory that they're with the Reapers in some way. While gathering yet another ragtag crew of misfits to save the galaxy, she discovers that one of them is Garrus Vakarian-now better known as Archangel, scourge of Omega's criminal gangs. When he nearly dies during their attempt to escape the siege of his compound, Jane realizes that he's much more than the first friendly face who'll actually stay with her.
Garrus had been staring down his death and coming to terms with the overall uselessness of his life. When Shepard appears back from the dead, the galaxy has color again. He commits to following her anywhere she needs to go, and really starts to appreciate the view of his Commander's six.Series
