If he were anyone else, that neutrality on her face might seem normal. But when she cocked her head, he noted the slight part in her lips. The beat of hesitation before she answered, “I did.”
His grin fell.
“I missed you, too.” She went still as he shifted up the bed, as he pressed a kiss to her forehead. His fingers stroked through the hair he’d been eyeing earlier, lifting it from her shoulder. “My beautiful Nesta.”
