Summary
An edited and improved (hopefully) version of my Bridge Over Troubled Water fic combined with its sequel series, it features the events leading up to David adopting Max legally and all the danger that comes with angering his birth father who remains suspiciously obsessed with Max for sinister motives. It's all kicked off when a small injury becomes life threatening to Max and no one steps in to look after him except for his counselors, who reach their limit with his absentee parents.
Includes lots of MomGwen, OC's to fill in the gaps in backstories and a thorough dashing of the paranormal and angst! And Max gets a puppy.

Summary
The Holidays are here and spring time will be soon to follow! Max's first holidays with his new family get underway with celebrations and spending time with loved ones. Gwen settles into Sleepy Peak for the long term and has no intentions of leaving soon. David pursues getting to know Peter Norstrom, his birth father who has been absent since he was two years old. Aster finally tells Gwen all she has been hiding and the past rears its head when the spring thaw comes and reveals all that was buried.

Summary
Max's eleventh birthday arrives, along with even more big changes. David finally steps into the role of a full time parent, and faces the major choices that come with it. Gwen stays in Sleepy Peak, and learns the history of the cult in hopes of some clue as to where Sunil has gone into hiding. Max tries to make the best of what he has, and focuses on the lessons from the good people in his life.

Summary
Gwen comes to Sleepy Peak to take matters into her own hands and to provide whatever she can to the investigation into Rishima's murder, and also to try to get things back on track in time for Max's incoming birthday. Aster decides regardless of what David wants, she's going to ensure Max will be ready for whatever comes next. David starts to doubt Aster's honesty, and also frets over whether or not he really is able to provide a safe, good home as a foster dad. Max pushes the people around him away out of guilt for what his father has done, and starts to uncover troubling things about Sleepy Peak's history, not realizing just how much he's going to unravel by pulling that thread.

Summary

Only one problem—This entire tale takes place within a storybook that someone picked up from the local library and forgot about. The enigmatic Capelle is, in fact, a starry-eyed teenage boy with hair the color of gold named Chase, and the fabled Princess Andromeda, a sulky stranger with a strange grasp on humanity named Nox.
