The sun was soft, warm and bright and so was the beach, waves lapping playfully at the sand, white sea foam clinging onto the jagged, grey rocks on the shore. Local children ran behind a worn leather ball, bouncing from a boy to another. Their laughter rang like church bells on a wedding day and their too-large, technicolored jerseys that their mammas tucked into their pants were now clumsily tugged out, neon fabric rippling in the spring wind.
On the other side of the beach was a small bay, hidden behind a half-protruding wall of the yellow, aging cliffs. There were five men, equally silent. Four of them stood. The other one did not.
