Severus’s hands shook. He knew the chances of making it back to October 31, 1981, were low, but he had to try. The boy had claimed Voldemort was back, and that would mean there were only a few more days before the Dark Lord summoned him. He could not look at that monster anymore, not if he could not gaze into Lily’s green eyes again, not if he could no longer envy James Potter, and not if the Potter boy’s eyes looked so dead and dull.
