Summary
The second time Ratio found Aventurine cornered in an alley, it wasn’t coincidence—it was routine.
He didn’t mean to get involved. He didn’t mean to care. But when someone keeps ending up in trouble and pretending it doesn’t hurt, what choice does a man have?
A couch. A night. A boundary neither of them fully understands. And the slow, silent question: how long can someone survive like this?

Summary
Neuvillette raised a single eyebrow as he approached the bed, no doubt in response to the probably goofy expression on Wriothesley's face. The warden ducked his chin, hiding the grin and the flush threatening to take over his visage in the soft pillow below.
"What could possibly have you so reticent?"
Wriothesley dared not lift his face, lest the hundreds of adjectives and confessions fighting for dominance in his mind spill past the carefully-guarded barrier of his lips. He hummed instead, a noncommittal noise that only served to further pique Neuvillette's curiosity as he settled on the edge of the bed. Wriothesley felt it dip with his weight, and subconsciously leaned closer still, pulled in by the gravity of their mutual affections.

Summary
“Isn't it a bad idea to help out someone you just met?”
Dark black hair with graying strands. Well-built body adorned with old scars hidden behind aging clothes. Dry soles with cracking heels and dirt under his nails. Now that Neuvillette has taken a better look at him, he must've been here for longer than most.
“My conscience is not at liberty to abandon anyone in their time of need. Surely nothing except the commitment to act is of any relevance?”
His answer is subdued laughter, and to Neuvillette, no other sound could be lovelier. He considered his likeness to that of a lone wolf, but this way—playful, relaxed, happy—his resemblance is closer to that of a lost puppy eager for company.
“Wow. Never heard anyone have that worldview before. Or your funny way of speaking, either,” he tells Neuvillette with an overfamiliarity some would find off-putting. But Neuvillette would rather have him like this. Comfortable. Trusting.
in his desperation to find meaning in his life, neuvillette abandons all his worldly possessions to come to the dungeon. inside lives a man who had never known what lies beyond his prison, and neuvillette wants to be the key to his freedom.

Summary
“Surely you can take a little break.” Wriothesley doubted that would get him far, but it was worth a shot.
“Unfortunately, I fear even a short break with you would turn into quite a longer one, beloved.”
Neuvillette looked up at him. Pointedly.
