Summary
They were trapped.
Fire hadn’t broken through yet, but it was coming. Buck could feel the heat pushing in, wrapping around them like a warning. The smoke thickened, clawing at their throats, painting the walls with a haze of panic.
“So…” Eddie’s voice cut through the haze, rough around the edges but maddeningly calm. “You wanna talk about it now?”
Buck turned slowly, disbelief etched across every exhausted line of his face, and he hoped his deadpan glare said it all. He didn’t need to ask what Eddie was referring to.
No, he didn’t want to talk about how he accidentally told his best friend he loved him just hours earlier.
He’d rather let the fire take him.
A season 9 two-part opening emergency, in which a group of hijackers takeover Station 118.

Summary
The silence on the other end sharpens.
“What the hell is that supposed to mean?” Buck snaps.
Eddie flinches. “Nothing. I—”
“No, come on, say it. What does that mean, Eddie?” Buck pushes, voice rising.
He feels trapped, like the walls are closing in, like he’s been backed into a corner with no way out. His palms feel sweaty, chest rising and falling too fast, too shallow, like there’s not enough air in the room.
He’s angry.
He’s hurt.
He’s confused.
He’s jealous. It’s too much all at once, emotion piling on top of emotion with nowhere to go.
And it keeps coming.
And. And. And.
His body is trembling under the weight of everything he can’t say, everything he didn’t know until now.
“I’m just saying,” Eddie starts, “it’s only been a couple of weeks and now you’re fucking Tommy Kinard in my bedroom—”
“It’s not your bedroom anymore,” Buck cuts in, his voice sharp. “You made sure of that, when you left.”
Or; 8x11 coda

Summary
"Remember when I fucked Tommy in here?"
It's not subtle, he's not even pretending to be subtle.
It's the verbal equivalent of tossing a lit match onto gasoline.
Buck knows it, and he couldn't be more excited.
He watches Eddie freeze mid-motion as if someone has hit pause on his actions, his shoulders tense up, his back straight and rigid. He gradually comes back into himself and sets the hanger down in the closet like it’s made of glass, and turns around slowly.
The look he gives Buck is a fusion of wide eyed confusion and mania.
But most of all… he looks pissed.
Good, everything is going to plan.
Or; Buck is a little shit and Eddie is just trying to do laundry.

Summary
“Well, yeah, I…” The few beers Eddie's had are catching up to him, making his head buzz, and suddenly he wonders. Would it be so bad to just… leave things open for interpretation? To maybe open the door, and see if Buck’s interested in checking what’s behind it? “It’s like I was saying. I don’t understand Tommy.” A pause, taking in the weight of what he’s about to say next. “If I were him, I’d never leave your side.”
or: Tommy breaks up with Buck. Eddie has some thoughts about it.
