Summary
To be with the forsaken is to burn alive, to destroy every piece of yourself and get them together in a way that would please them. To be with Lanfear is to challenge yourself, to permanently fight back and lose over and over again.
And when Moiraine experienced that for the first time, she knew she was destined to never win. Or so she thought... -

Summary
This Peggy can only deny and beg herself not to think about the girl every second she's out of sight. Just don't think about anything to do with Dottie - not about the lipstick in her pocket which the blonde used in one of her attempts to kill Carter (one of her favourite attempts, if you ask Peggy), or the bruise on her thigh left three days ago in Munich on another mission to catch the criminal (on the top of the list of "favourite encounters", if you ask Dorothy).

Summary
“I don’t know what you want me to say, Zosia,” Carol admitted, exasperated. “That I feel like I’m walking on eggshells around you? That I feel like I owe it to you to be a little nicer? That I feel guilty for taking advantage of you while you weren’t really yourself?”
Zosia huffed. “So you decided that giving me this half-assed version of yourself was going to absolve you of your previous shitty behavior?”
Carol didn’t know what to do except shrug.
“I know you,” Zosia said slowly. “Intimately and against my will. You were shoved into my molecules, my pores. I know the fire you keep in your belly. I know you stoke it yourself. I know you swallow coals and timber just to keep yourself going, however unpleasant it may be.”
A cold sweat broke across Carol’s neck. She remained silent.
“It’s not going to… make me feel better if you repress that side of yourself with the intention of pacifying me,” Zosia continued. “It makes me feel guilty, for whatever reason, and feeling guilty about you is the last thing I need right now. Or ever. You don’t deserve my guilt. Not after everything.”

Summary
“I didn’t keep most of the memories. Other people’s memories. I get flashes of big things, births, deaths. Except about you.”
Carol feels the confusion slip onto her face. Nervousness creeps up her spine again. “Me?”
“I know everything that anybody has ever thought about you, Carol. Every memory. Every feeling. Helen. Your ex-girlfriends. Your dentist. It’s like I have a Carol encyclopedia in my head.”
Carol had thought that she was done experiencing fresh horrors. What a nightmare it is to realize that she is not. “Oh, god.” She says.
“Oh, god,” Zosia agrees.
After they manage to break Zosia free of the hive, Zosia and Carol try to navigate the field of landmines that is their relationship.

Summary
“Eggs or waffles?” Zosia asked.
Carol looked at Zosia, then Zosia’s nipples, then back to the painting of a tree on a hill.
She cleared her throat. “Waffles are good.”

Summary
She still loved Carol, after the unjoining. She loved her in exactly the same way. Her feelings hadn't changed from one moment to the next, from when she was joined to when she was unjoined. Why would they? She was still the same person.
The problem wasn't that Zosia didn't love Carol. The problem was that Carol didn't love Zosia. She didn't know Zosia. She had neither fallen in love with the Zosia of before nor the Zosia of afterward, she had fallen in love with the Zosia of during. She had fallen in love with them. And Zosia wasn’t them anymore.

Summary
For only a second, and maybe she imagined it, Carol thought she saw a glimmer of the most human expression Zosia had worn yet: annoyance.
“And you’ll still be working on reversing this?” Zosia asked.
“We wouldn’t be very good heroes if we didn’t, now would we?”
