He tugged gently at Kaji’s sleeve again. The older boy turned, eyes curious.
Sakura hesitated, cheeks warming. “What flavor is it?”
Kaji raised an eyebrow.
“Your lollipop,” Sakura clarified quickly, gaze dropping to the ground. “I, uh… haven’t had one in a while.”
Kaji’s lips quirked, like he was fighting a smile.
He didn’t say anything. Instead, he pulled the lollipop from his mouth and, without hesitation, pressed it gently against Sakura’s lips.

“Something up with Sakura?” Kiryu guessed, because what else would unsettle them so thoroughly?
Suo’s mouth tightened in response, and Nirei let out a conflicted noise, as if he hadn’t yet worked out his feelings about whatever they’d come to bother Kiryu with.
“You could say that,” Suo replied. “Hmm. Well, it could mean nothing.”
“It could mean nothing,” Nirei agreed miserably. “You said as much to Sakura, anyway.”
“Sometimes lying is the right thing to do,” Suo said.
Kiryu looked between the two of them. “If you won’t return my phone, then could one of you at least provide some context?”
“Endo wants to date Sakura,” Suo offered. “At least, that seems to be the case.”
“It can be a figure of speech, though,” Nirei argued. “Right?”
“What can be?” Kiryu inquired, mildly intrigued.
Nirei hesitated. “When…when you text a friend—like, to ask them to hang out—do you ever say something like…‘it’s a date’?”Or, sometimes spying on your friend's date is the right thing to do!

Summary
The boy's airways were blocked — inhalation choked off, exhalation intercepted. His stifled whimpers were whipped into fresh cream by Tamsy's tongue, only making him taste sweeter. Soon, Rudo's eyes rolled back, his senses fading until the world dissolved into nothing but the sensation of Tamsy kissing him.
So this was the feeling of a "kiss."
In the split second before losing consciousness, Rudo thought:
It felt so much like "being devoured."
