I would love to see a fic where Aramis kind of goes on this epic downward spiral with perhaps several things happening in a row to contribute to it:
Maybe the Red Guard who actually pulled the trigger to kill Adele could start taunting him (or just somehow make it clear that she is dead for having had an affair with Aramis). The Queen could miscarry (and he can't really talk about it with anyone). Maybe a mission goes wrong, civilians are injured and he can't save them. Perhaps he runs into Isabelle/Sister Helene's father in Paris and is blamed for her death. The Duke of Savoy comes back...

Prompt fill
Athos and Porthos fall down a well. A deep, crumpled or hidden well. Aramis has to find and rescue them, but he's injured in some way. Musket ball in the side, dislocated shoulder, anything that might make this extra challenging for him. Maybe he was knocked out during the fight when they fell so he didn't even see what happened to them. Their voices barely carry out of the well they're stuck in, and they're cold, very cold, and getting worse.

It was perfect.
The plan was simple.
Buck would come over.
At some point, Buck would stand under the mistletoe.
Eddie would make some kind of joke. Something casual. Easy. A little teasing.
Buck would laugh, maybe duck his head in that shy way he got when Eddie hit the exact right note of earnest and flirtation.
Then Eddie would kiss him.
Or 5 times Eddie tried to kiss Buck under the mistletoe and 1 time he put it away

"I don't think you're supposed to drop life-changing information on a guy with a concussion," Buck hums, voice suddenly deeper—raspier, his eyebrow arching again, with more confidence this time, his gaze briefly dropping to Eddie's lips, just a fraction of a second, but enough for a bolt of heat to make its way down Eddie's spine.
"You don't have a concussion, I was with you at the hospital, dumbass," Eddie shoots back, but he feels his voice do the same shift, further down his throat, raspier, a little bit breathless, volume fading back to a near-whisper. Private.
"You're not supposed to be mean to a kidnapping victim, either," Buck bickers back, their words growing further and further away from their tone as their faces drift closer, Buck's hand leaving Eddie's wrist with a squeeze, settling on his hip instead, warm like a branding iron even through several layers of clothing.
"I just told you I'm in love with you, that's what you call being mean?"

Summary
They're six hours in. Six hours into the ten—though it's definitely been elongated by Eddie's frequent need to stop to rest his "wing" and check on Buck, go to the bathroom, buy more snacks and coffee, make sure the coolant levels in the car are still good.
They've checked in on each other, of course. Maybe an annoying amount. And Eddie's more than once snaked a hand over to put it somewhere on Buck's body, just for proof of life.
So, there they are, six hours (more like eight?) into this drive, and Buck's soft groans are starting to get louder. He's not saying anything. Because neither of them have really said anything.
Eddie knows they kidnapped Buck because they wanted to replace their son. Buck knows Eddie escaped the hospital in someone else's clothes. Everything else is just details the other doesn't need to know. Or maybe is too scared to ask about.
Eddie wants to know. He does. He wants to ask.
Or: Buck can't keep going in the car. They have to stop. And they have to talk.
