Iruka witnesses a child kidnapping crime, and gets an injury that leaves him blind, Kakashi offers a ninken as a service dog, and also helps Iruka get back on his feet since suddenly becoming blind is a gigantic learning curve, not to mention an emotional rollercoaster.... etc.... Romance comes in wayyy later. Iruka is determined to stop the people who have taken the children from their homes to be shipped off and sold to anyone who wants a malleable child soldier with a good pedigree. And Kakashi wants to help him as much as possible. Especially when some of the kidnappers turn out to be leaf village shinobi. In a crime ring spanning multiple villages, who can you trust?

Summary
Kakashi is okay with what he calls his life even though there is not much more to it than missions and the recovery time until he can go on mission again. Everything changes when he asks Iruka-sensei for advice and realises that both of them are not what they think they are. And suddenly, biology is more than just a hindrance in his missions. But there are things in Kakashi's past that make everything so much more complicated.

Summary
Spin off from Blood of the Immoral. Accepting his fate, Gaara hopes for nothing and wishes for nothing in his cell in Orochimaru's lab. That is until he meets Naruto and starts to hope for the outside world. One night Naruto manages to escape but not him. Several years later, Gaara is grown and watches over Naruto from afar as the blonde does not remember the events from their awful childhood. As Naruto gets dragged into a war he was not prepared for, Gaara works behind the scenes to show the full corruption of the Konoha shinobi. Highly recommend reading BOTI first as this fills in blanks in that story.
