Hyunjin has always been so bright to the world. Shining, blinding. He hates seeing him like this, so weak. So fragile. The tears keep pouring till wiping them is of no use. He holds his face, his tightly shut eyes shaking. “What’s wrong?”
“I love you so much.” He opens his eyes. Pooled with crystal tears, a choked sob ripping its way out of his throat. “It hurts. I’m sorry. It hurts so much.”
Hyunjin is hopelessly in love with his best friend and he deals with it by getting drunk out of his mind. Seungmin drives him home every single night at two am, their feelings never spoken about but shared in the form of drunk kisses in the bathroom.

Sometimes, there would be months when he dreamed of Minho every night and awoke with only the fading wisps of memory. It left a hollowed-out feeling in his chest. It left him reeling. It left him sunken and gasping and full of remorse.
And then, a few minutes into wakefulness, the dreams were gone, a hazy smokescreen memory, more pain than substance.

There’s a picture of this moment, Jaejoong’s frame lit by stadium lights, his back a dictionary in love. It made the newspapers and Jeonghan had cut it out, left it pressed in his exercise book. He didn’t know how to sing or dance, but at that moment, he had wanted, wanted.
