Leon wasn’t the kind of man who liked what people called modern. Or change.
He still used his old phone —the same one the government had given him so Hunnigan could reach him whenever necessary—, his Aerial Shot’s whiskey, his worn leather jacket, motorcycle magazines he read during rare moments of free time, and the simple solitude of whatever temporary apartment he was living in.
Changes… he had more than enough of those at work. Always dealing with things far beyond normal, and just when he thought he’d seen everything, humanity managed to surprise him again, with its desperation, its hunger for power, or someone’s burning need for revenge for a person who had died in his arms.
So changes, as far as Leon was concerned, were best avoided whenever possible.With Mercedes, however… he didn’t stand a chance.
He wants her in ways he shouldn’t.
