“I’ll take that as a yes!” he chirps brightly, and then Megumi can only watch in horror as he pinches the marker in his fingers and swivels back to face Megumi, and then the marker’s suddenly in the air, and then the marker lands with a thwok right against Megumi’s forehead, and then it lands anticlimactically on his desk, and then it rolls to a stop against his notebook.
Megumi feels a faint throbbing in the center of his forehead.
“So, can anyone tell me what the maximum height of that projectile was?”

Shoko hums, reaching for Gojo’s wrist. She raises it barely off of the surface where Satoru rests, her eyebrows pinched slightly in concentration. When she lets it go, there’s something like confusion faintly tracing her face.
“Well, I don’t know what to tell you,” she finally admits. “Gojo is, for all intents and purposes…” She pauses, looking hesitant at her own words. Megumi doesn’t miss the way Geto stiffens in anticipation. “Well, asleep.”
“Asleep,” Geto repeats incredulously after a stagnant pause. “What do you mean, asleep?”
“I mean asleep,” Shoko says with a helpless shrug. “His brain functions are all normal, there’s nothing blocking his cursed energy—he’s just asleep.”
Geto stares blankly at her. “So how do we wake him up?”
“Have you tried pouring a bucket of water on him?”
Geto’s stare does not become any more amused. Shoko snickers. “Look, I don’t know. True love’s kiss, maybe—?” She cuts herself off. Her eyes widen. “Wait.”

Wordlessly, Satoru slips off his perch, and his fingers are gentle as they rake through her hair, pulling it away from her face, securing it with a hair tie, retrieved from the inner pocket of his jacket. The unexpected show of thoughtfulness triggers a pang of surprise. His fingers brush against the back of her neck, lingering for far longer than is strictly necessary. Shoko keeps her eyes trained on Maki's face. Her voice is perfectly steady, even as a pleasant, yearning ache gathers in her chest. "You coming in?"

Often late at night, in the abyss of her bedroom; her younger self crying weakly to her father, puling and asking why her mother was gone. Tsumiki appears as a reflection of that.
