Summary
“Apparently there was some mix up and they oversold the rooms and I guess Farghani never even showed up? I don’t know.” The words spill out in a fluster. He’s too thrown by the circumstances–that yes, he was stuck in this room with Alhaitham as his roommate for the entire weekend–to pay attention to the exact details resulting in the current predicament.
“Well, that’s convenient.”
It’s only then that it hits him–that in his earlier confusion he neglected to notice that the bed that Alhaitham now sits on, head resting in his hands as he leans forward with his elbows on his knees, is the only bed in the room. And judging by the dismayed look on his face, Alhaitham has figured that out already.
While two reluctant roommates navigate a university conference, Kaveh sends a thirst trap to the wrong person.

Summary
His subject always leaves at the same station. Kaveh works from memory now, rendering the shadows he’s memorized over time with the flat of his pencil. If he were to flip through the pages of his own book, it would tell a wordless story of infatuation, a case study of the subtle changes of expression in the stranger that has captivated him so intently.
Kaveh finds himself fascinated by a stranger on his morning commute.

Summary
“We may have a problem.”
Kaveh tilts his head. He follows the grout-line between the tiles with the sole of his shoe subconsciously, grounding himself in the repetitive motion.
Nasir continues with a sigh. “It seems that the Acting Grand Sage intends to decline our request for funding.”
“Ah. That’s… unfortunate.” Kaveh speaks slowly, carefully concealing his initial reaction. This isn’t the first he’s heard of this, but he didn’t consider it to be an actual, real possibility. He’s both shocked and utterly unsurprised at the same time. “But what does that have to do with me, specifically?”
“You know the Acting Grand Sage, do you not?”
A simple question with a complicated answer.
Kaveh is tasked with securing the funding for Kshahrewar from the Acting Grand Sage. Things get complicated.

Summary
“I can take care of myself just fine. I don’t need you or anyone else for that matter.” Kaveh said, turning his nose upwards and his body away, already preparing to exit the conversation. “I’m going to my room, I’ve reached my limit for how long I can put up with you.”
“If it’s really such a bother, perhaps you’ll finally move out of my house.”
“You’re insufferable and I resent you greatly.” Kaveh added quickly before very dramatically walking to his room and slamming the door behind him.
