Summary
Haruka is a warm person.
Friendly (if to a fault), kind, giving. (The latter: even when she does not intend, and Chihaya cannot help but to take what has been proffered—take take take. She should feel greedy, hopelessly so, but Haruka looks at her, smiles, all soft around the edges, like it's a secret, one Chihaya keeps close to her chest, buried in the cracks between her ribs that have since been broken open—
(Haruka smiles, and Chihaya takes those fond things, crams them into the cracks, the grooves, the fractures that bleed willingly and wantingly.)
Chihaya and Haruka are living together in the small, quiet space Chihaya used to inhabit alone. Chihaya begins to understand what it's like to allow the warmth of another person in.

“That’s interesting.” Asa finally finds the words to reply, smiling in return at Kame as she quickly darts out of the way of some other girl who was walking by. “Say, Kame, If I had a wedding…”
“Oh, I’d get you a bouquet full of blossoming madame butterflies.”

Summary
It had been a bright morning in the middle of February, the day after Valentine's. (Now that had been interesting to watch; chocolates and lollipops, flushed-cheeked kids giving each other little notes. She had gotten some herself, but she didn't care to give much response; she cared more to observe the reactions of everyone around her, how the kids with no chocolates cried and cried and cried.)
They set the stroller in the living room, her father grabbing at her wrist to splay her hand toward the matching bundles. "This is Kururi," He indicated toward the baby with the cat blanket, "And this is Mairu," He forced her hand to touch the soft, squirming, puppy blanket.
"You're a big sister," Her mother said softly as if waiting for her reaction.
Nozomi stared at the babies, then looked up at their expectant faces. She didn't know how to respond, didn't know what was proper for her to be feeling, what they wanted, so she just said,
"Oh."
