Summary
Wei Wuxian slunk closer, dropping his pile of papers right on top of Jiang Cheng's notes and slouching onto the travel trunk stored beside the desk. He crossed his arms on top of the pile and propped his chin on them, turning his face sideways to look up at Jiang Cheng. "I helped," he said. His eyes glittered, red-rimmed and over-bright, and his skin had the gray tinge of exhaustion. This close, he stunk of the strange resentful energy his new cultivation style utilized. His hands were clean-- at least he'd had the courtesy to wash off the grave dirt before coming-- but his fingernails were chewed to the quick. Jiang Cheng's lips pressed together, half-concern, half-disapproval.
"They weren't supposed to be done for another shichen," he said, instead of when is the last time you slept or have you eaten anything in the last two days or any of the hundred other things he wanted to say. Wei Wuxian didn't mind being mothered when Jiang Yanli did it. If Jiang Cheng tried, he'd just tell him to fuck off. He continued, "It doesn't count as helping if you do one thing and leave."

There was an aura of mystic whisperings around Zhao Qinglin. That surely the weight of future visions untethered him from this earthly coil as it did many Seers. What a crushing responsibility it must be, to subtly shift fate this way and that. How tragic, how sad- this is all reasonable for why Zhao Qinglin ignored the urgent request for the third time in a row! Or perhaps some tragedy was prevented by his non answer...
That was how simpletons like his fellow Peak Lords rationalized it.
Shen Qingqiu thought that perhaps Zhao Qinglin was just a lay about. Kan Zhanbu was the tiniest of the twelve Peaks. The last that Shen Qingqiu had heard, the Peak only boasted one Elder, two Masters, and five Disciples- none of this counting Zhao Qinglin himself. Unless he spent all day gazing into the sun, he had more than enough time to pick up a brush and do his job.

【INITIATING MISSION: ‘Become a True Catboy or Fucking Explode!’ ₍^>ヮ<^₎ .ᐟ.ᐟ START】Shen Yuan transmigrates into early PIDW as a cat demon and gets picked up by the scum villain! Now his system keeps giving him cat-related missions such as ‘cats must play!’ or ‘all cats purr!’ and even ‘cats often go into heat!’. Ignore that last one, actually.
So begins Shen Yuan’s balancing act of completing these nonsensical missions, hiding his identity, and staying on the good side of the super tsundere, cat-like man known as Shen Jiu, who keeps saying stuff like ‘I’ll kill you if I find out you’re a demon’.
TDLR; this whole fic is an elaborate excuse to write catboy!SY going into heat.
