“I deeply apologize for the inconvenience, Mydeimos.” Khaslana said, placing a hand on his scarred and bloody chest. If the Flame Reaver had the energy to talk, Mydei thought he might have apologized as well. Instead, he merely breathed heavily in his general direction.
“And you!” Mydei whirled around. “You’re supposed to be dead! We got rid of you!”
“You cannot kill me in any way that matters.” Irontomb smiled meanly.
Beside him, Mydei watched Phainon bury his head into his hands.
Or, after a mishap with crystallized memoria, Mydei is asked and/or forced to watch over 4 different versions of Phainon until a solution can be found.

The sentence barely registers in Mydei’s mind as he stares at the shadow of the man who was once Phainon, who sits completely still in a chair, dull eyes staring sightlessly ahead.
“Damage to mind function detected… Possibly irreversible…”
The Antikytheran-like man continues reading through the digitized logs impartially, as if merely reciting a speech. But every single word he says drives another stake into Mydei’s heart.
Mydeimos the Undying scarcely bowed his head, rarely lowered himself onto his knees, and never, ever begged. And yet he finds himself doing all three things now, before the broken shell of his beloved.

Irontomb’s birth is prevented, and Amphoreus is saved. But it’s at great cost to Phainon, whose psyche finally crumbled under the devastating damage to his mind, body, and heart.

Summary
Mydei is stuck in a strange state of existence. While most believe him an alpha due to his outward appearance and reputation as a fierce warrior, he has no secondary gender and a limited sense of smell.
Usually, he wouldn’t care and even prefers not having to deal with heats and ruts, but lately, being around Phainon has him feeling off-center. There’s a weird prickling sensation in his nape that won’t go away, and his entire body heats up at even the slightest provocation.
Is he, somehow, growing allergic to Phainon? Is that what this is?
Alternatively, Mydei presents as an omega because of one very oblivious Deliverer and has to deal with the consequences.
