Summary
All told, her troubles were nothing in comparison to what others faced, or so she liked to think. Sam was a practical sort, not given to wild drama, which she liked to remind herself of whenever drama happened to find her. It just seemed that ever since the war began, she'd had more than her fair share. No matter what troubles found her, however, she knew she had one person she could always count on. He never let her down, no matter what the world tossed at her. He was strong when she couldn't be, in ways she didn't even know she needed. She wanted to keep smiling, for him if not for herself, but some troubles were much harder to move past than others.
Sam's the victim of a crime that leaves her questioning everything in her life, or everything except one thing. After all, what's the use of worrying? It never was worthwhile.
