    "I shouldn't have come back like this," she said, the words escaping before she could stop them. "I should have waited until the effects dissipated."

    Alhena tilted her head slightly, studying Dedra with the precise attention she typically reserved for particularly complex intelligence reports. "And how long would that have been? Days? A week?"

    "I don't know." Dedra's voice cracked slightly. "I didn't anticipate—" She broke off, unable to articulate exactly what she hadn't anticipated.

    "I can't—" she started, then stopped, swallowed, tried again. "I can't stop thinking about you," she finally blurted out, the words carrying the weight of a confession extracted under duress. "It's like I'm wired wrong. Everything is too much—sounds, smells, textures—but especially you. Your voice. Your scent." Her voice dropped to a whisper. "The way you look at me."

    Dedra goes on a mission to Zeltros for a few days, expecting nothing of it. The Zeltron's pheromones affect her more than she anticipates. Alhena is more than willing to do whatever it takes to make her feel normal again when she makes it back home.
