This time, it’s different. He’s not thinking about faking niceties and clenching his teeth to mimic a smile. He’s thinking about Gojo Satoru; about snappy retorts and bitter sneers and small circular sunglasses.
Just maybe, the two of them are more alike than he thought. Maybe their masks are just painted with different designs. A sneer and a smile. Both baring their teeth. Masks they wake up every day and choose to plaster on because they’re what works, not because they’re comfortable or truthful.

He stops in front of the door, breathing heavily through his mouth. His mind completely blanks, and for a second he thinks it’s all the running; the lack of oxygen is starting to catch up to him. He feels lightheaded. But then he takes in another breath, through his nose this time, and he smells it.
Satoru’s scent is fairly light. Normally. Ozone and something electric, like the smell of wet air after lightning strikes a bit too close for comfort. Muted. Definitely not the type of thing Suguru can usually smell through a door.
That’s still there, barely. But it’s different now.

For the first time since Gumiho had stepped under the rope, Romance remembered he was there with other people. He glanced over at Abby, who was staring in the direction of the ring with the same awestruck expression Romance was sure had just been on his own face.
“Yeah, same page.” He breathed out, glancing back towards the ring. When he looked back, Abby was staring at him with a grin that he quickly returned. “Gojo Satoru.” She snaps her fingers in front of his face, disturbing his hyper-locked in view of the phone screen, and he blinks, the world coming back into focus.
“Huh?” He says.
“Okay, I have known you since you were, what? Twelve? Thirteen?”
Satoru makes an iffy sort of hand gesture. It was somewhere around there, who knows really. He can’t remember all that.
“Okay, so I say this with the full weight of well over a decade of…” She pauses, thinking.
“Friendship.” He supplies, nodding.
She stares at him dead-eyed.
“Acquaintanceship?” He tries, failing to stop the pout.
“Proximity.” She decides firmly.

Suguru never planned this—really, he didn’t. He’s not that kind of person.

Summary
Suguru and him on a bed.Suguru in him on a bed.
Just the thought kind of makes Satoru’s pussy throb, because he knows Suguru would do wonders to him—make this whole stupid trip worthwhile. The amount of ogling he does to the farmer only makes him even more sure of what he wants.
And Satoru has been trying to get his attention, he really has. But Suguru is a tough nut to crack, and not even Satoru constantly getting in his business over the past few days has earned him more than the occasional chuckle when he makes a joke.
But Satoru knows that most of that tough act is just that—an act. He’s just being an ass. A bit sadistic, probably. Definitely finds it funny how Satoru follows him around like a stray, like he’s waiting for something—like Satoru’s going to beg.
Hah. As if.
