It was one thing for Watson to fall asleep trussed up beautifully, and quite another for Holmes, who was responsible for him in such a condition to follow suit. Watson had often fallen asleep in such a situation, and assured Holmes that he needn’t untie him. In fact, Watson enjoyed waking up in this state.
