Estinien caught him staring, raised an eyebrow without breaking eye contact.
‘Mooning over me won’t change my mind, Borel. I’ve survived over two decades without flailing around in some accursed pool. I don’t plan on starting now. Don’t you worry about me. I’ll be fine.’
And with that he was gone, vanishing into the late-afternoon light like a half-remembered dream. Aymeric took a very measured breath, fighting down the urge to scream and possibly chuck that apple core at Estinien’s head.
This was going to be harder than he’d thought.

“So what do we do now?” Estinien said, his voice dropped to nearly a whisper.
Aymeric shrugged. “We proceed as we have been, I suppose. We continue becoming acquainted. I am enjoying the process immensely thus far.”
“It’s like we’re in one of your films, Aymeric, in the ‘set-up’ section of the narrative, with all the heavy exposition. We’re in our own little Holiday Estimeric version of ‘Love Actually,'” Estinien said.
“Estimeric?”
“You know, like the celebrities…they combine their names into one. Bennifer and what-not. I don’t know.” He shrugged and waved a dismissive hand.
“Oh, Estinien and Aymeric…Estimeric.” He paused and cocked his head to the side in thought. “I suppose it does sound nicer than Ayminien,” Aymeric nodded.
