    Summary

Jon didn't think anything of listening to Damian before he went to sleep, and he definitely didn't think too hard about listening to him on patrol when he woke up. When said 'patrol' turned out to be a civilian abduction that turned sour fast, he flew to Gotham to help.
    And then things got messy.
Killing is a crime normally. For the son of Superman? A Kryptonian who can only live on this planet because his kind is known to be benevolent protectors of Earth? Killing is much, much more than a crime.
So Jon didn't think too far beyond accepting Damian's offer of 'run,' even if it did land him in a completely different country, camping out with who are almost certainly ninjas, hiding from their fathers and probably the entire Justice League. Now though... now all he can do is think.
And he's tripping out a bit about it.

    Summary

Different scenarios of the family hugging Damian with little to no plot.

    OR

“Damian leaned heavily into Richard, letting go of all his weight. He sighed, closing his eyes and focusing on the thuds sounding from the warm, broader chest.

Richard, waiting for Damian to get comfortable, wrapped his arms snugly against the boy. He settled his chin on top of Damian’s head, letting out a hum of contentment.”

    Summary

"My god, how do you still not have cavities?" Jason comments, frowning at Dick's sugar-loaded monstrosity.

"I don't know—how come your fat ass isn't rolling around with all the burgers you eat?" Dick replies flatly, slurping loudly at his milkshake.

Jason flips him the middle finger. Dick returns the gesture.

"You two are so immature," Damian scoffs. "Idiots," he mumbles, not quietly enough to keep Jason from hearing—but knowing Damian, he might have done it on purpose.

And with that, another wave of insults erupts.

Tim sighs and takes another bite of his burger, dodging without blinking the little spoon of sour cream that Jason redirected after Damian threw it at him.

The guy who took their order slowly retreats toward the kitchen. Tim makes a mental note to leave a generous tip.

    Summary

Tim got sent to the principal’s office anyway because apparently flipping someone over your shoulder is “excessive force” even if they started it and even if you used the minimum amount of spine rearrangement necessary.

So now he had a disciplinary warning, no lunch, and a quiz on derivatives.

By fourth period his brain felt like it had been replaced with warm oatmeal. He got one question wrong because he wrote the answer in Cyrillic out of sheer sleep deprivation. The teacher circled it in red and wrote “????” which felt deeply judgmental.

    Summary

“He found himself wondering if anyone would notice before the spell was up. It seemed unlikely; there were often stretches where contact was limited between him and his family. Normally, it was not born from necessity but rather strife. And perhaps strife would bleed from this.

    He hoped not.”

When a confrontation with a powerful magic user goes awry, Damian is cursed, robbing him of his voice. Or, communicate without a fresh bruise appearing, that is.

What begins as an inconvenience quickly spirals into something far worse, as he finds himself struggling with the mounting realization: no one has noticed. As his silence deepens, so do the rifts with his family. He’s not helped by the many more sinister theories the people around him assume because of his new temperament.

One thing is certain: he really, really hates magic.
