The group made their way over to the two Hylians, where the individual they had rushed to save was conversing with the newcomer. The newcomer was heavily scarred on his left side, and from the bow on his back, he was the archer who had brought down many of the monsters.
“Hello,” Time said, as he nodded to them. “Could you point us toward Castle Town?”
The scarred man blinked. “Nanda?”

The Heroes of Courage are spread across ages. Hundreds to thousands of years between them. It should come as no surprise that they are having some trouble communicating. But when they’re dropped in a world of alien technology and a language wholly unfamiliar, they really wish Hylia had thought ahead.
Or, the gang-meets-wild fic in which there is an appropriate amount of linguistic drift between Links, Hylia does not provide Google Translate, and Wild is a linguaphile among other things.

Summary
When Harry finds an injured Snape on his doorstep and must hide him from the Dursleys, he has no idea that this very, very bad day will be the start of something good.
Harry and Snape are thrown together by annoying relatives, a series of strange dreams, and Voldemort's latest hunt for Harry, but their greatest challenge may well be surviving each other. This will be a long summer unless the two can find a way to work together. A slow-burn enemy-to-mentor story.

"Will," slips out of her mouth before she can stop herself. "But, that doesn't matter."
"I heard my name, Max. And his. You have your volume way too high for someone who has 'good hearing.'"
"Mike, you have to call him." She says bluntly.
"Max. I can't." He says desperately.
She could see the tears welling in his eyes before he probably noticed one was rolling down his cheek. "Maybe not today, or even tomorrow. But you have to soon."
"I need a real answer as to why, Max. I know I won't be able to speak. I'm going to choke."
"If I said that Will knows it's you who calls every year.. would that be a good enough reason?" She asks, slowly and cautiously.

Every year, Mike calls Will on his birthday. Every year since they graduated college together. Will got the life he wanted, a loving boyfriend, a good house, and two cats.
6 years into Mike calling and never saying anything into the speaker phone, Will crashes.
