“Well what? Have you at least the decency to see how unfair it is?”
Nicole feels no part angel in this moment - right now she is simply a friend to mortals who will live a fraction of her lifespan, and she revels in it. For some of the increasingly frequent moments between a confession and a shared drink she can almost brush her fingers against the understanding that she has been unknowingly chasing ever since Ivanovna died - she brushes her fingers against the shape of love, of a bias born for friends and those close to the heart.
But it is a night of merry-making. There is no place for such a revelation as dangerous as this, not when it concerns Nicole’s death sentence.
Varka clears his throat. “Er. Unfair? I mean, I wouldn’t say it’s unfair, exactly.”
This man. And the audacity.
He’s going to be the death of her.
OR: Nicole, and what it means to fall in love.
(And Teyvat, and what it means for an angel to break her vow.)

"No?" Nicole breathed, her head tilting back as he found a sensitive spot just below her jaw, his tongue tracing the line of her throat.
"No." He bit her lower lip gently, a sharp spark of sensation that made her arch into him, her chest pressing firmly against his. "This is not love. This is just..." He dipped his head, his hands roaming lower, possessive and sure, molding her body to his. "...just something stupid you do when you’re drunk."

Flins has lived a long, long time. Much of his time was spent guiding others, then lighting up the way to lead those astray back to shore. Yet nature was not something that found itself bogged down by the concept of duty.
