Summary
AU of movieverse. It is many years since tragedy struck the line of Durin when the youngest heir was lost to a pack of orcs. Now Bilbo Baggins, having agreed only to stealing treasure from a dragon, finds himself instead tangled up in a web of tragedy and revenge. Perhaps it's foolhardy of him to get involved at all, but really, someone has to try and keep these dwarves out of trouble. As for the rest, well, what is lost does not always stay lost forever.

He lives alone in his fine house, managing his estate, and ignoring the people of Hobbiton as much as they avoid him. When a storm lands him with an unexpected (and unwelcome) little visitor, all Bilbo wants to do is find the baby Dwarf's missing family so he can get back to his own life.

"Sumo! Damn dog!" He sat up with a growl, shoving the dog that was crushing him to the bed to the side. "The hell's gotten into you?"
The dog was jumping around on the bed, clambering over him frantically as he barked and barked. Sumo had always been a big friendly beast. Content to sprawl over the nearest flat surface and snooze. This was startling behaviour from the usually calm dog.
Something was wrong.
Or: The android attack finally comes back to bite Connor, Hank and Sumo are worried, and a much needed conversation occurs.
