To be honest and he didn't want to say it to the man, Shouta had walked into this raid with no hope of finding the kid alive. Most kidnapped kids were dead within days of capture. This wasn’t a stroke of luck that this kid was here and breathing. Regardless of why, he couldn't believe the boy was actually alive.

“Your blood matches a sample the FBI has on file from a kidnapping case.” Agent Carisi opens the thicker file. “A four-year-old boy taken while on vacation with his father about twenty years ago.”
Peter’s breathing speeds up.
“Authorities took fingerprint and DNA samples from the boy’s room, and at the father’s behest, we continue to test them against any that are placed within any system we have access to.”
A piece of paper with lab results lays atop the file. It gets picked up and placed on the table.
“This afternoon, we finally got a match.”
