Summary
Between killing a guy, fighting a demon clown, and losing the only person he’s ever loved, Richie’s pretty sure he just had the worst day of his life. Good thing he gets to relive it over, and over, and over again! The universe may be a sick fuck, but at least it’s giving him the chance (many chances) to make it right and get Eddie where he belongs. Or is it?

Eddie yanks the VHS out of the box from Richie's mom. The stretched, yellowing piece of tape along the side reads “Prom 1994,” and when a cold, unadulterated shiver goes through Eddie’s body at the sight of the words, at the flood of memories that overflows him, he shoves it straight back under the loudly patterned t-shirt on top. Unfortunately, Bev sees him, and snatches the tape back.
“Oh my god,” she says, pressing the tape flat under her nail, “is this really our prom video?”

“So. To summarize. I’m stranded on Mars, entirely alone. I have absolutely no way to communicate with my crew or with earth, since our communications antennae turned me into a human shish-kabob. If the oxygenator becomes compromised, I’ll suffocate. If the water reclaimer stops working, I’ll dehydrate. Breach in the Hab means I’ll go poof. And if, for some god-forsaken reason none of those things kill me first, I’m gonna run out of food and starve to death. Oh, and we can’t forget that everyone I know thinks I’m dead. So… yup. Totally fucked.”

“Uh, Spaghetti?” Richie waves a hand in front of his face, looking worried now. “Hello? Do you want to let me know whatever it was that was so important you had to drag me awake for it or -”
“I have a turtle in my pocket that speaks to me in my head and is possessed by Bruce Springsteen,” Eddie blurts out. “Also I think it may be God.”
Richie stares blankly at him.
“What,” he asks flatly, “the fuck.”
“Or a god, at least, I don’t know,” Eddie continues, “Either way, I think it was the one who brought me back to life, so. You know. The chances are very good.”
