It was supposed to be over. They defeated Vecna and the Mind Flayer. They destroyed the upside down. It was done. They were supposed to be free of everything. They all moved on with their lives, going to different colleges or getting jobs.
They all moved on from Hawkins.That was until Hopper called them all, saying how he thinks the upside down possibly opened again. Causing everyone to go back to that town. He explained why he thought the upside down was back, leaving, Richie —Mike— wishing he’d stayed home in Derry with the losers.
