Nothing will make me feel better for a long time. How was one to even move on? Suddenly, the definition of a long time changed for Shane into simply being forever.
He lay his head down on the kitchen island, his hot forehead connecting with the cool marble. What was there to say? What was there to do? His world was shattered. His best friend was gone. A husband, a father. Gone. Just like that. In just one night of sleep, Shane’s entire world crumbled.
Shane never wanted to sleep again.
