Summary
As he tries to get comfortable (an impossible task, he knows. He tries anyway), his head falls back. He sees the plot of black lodged between the roofs of the crumbling buildings, and the white specks dotted across it.
They remind him of a tapestry- or maybe a painting? The pretty kinds of ones he’s spotted in the marketplace. Though he’s never really been allowed to look at them close-up, always being shooed away by the vendors and shoppers alike, mutterings and curses of ‘damned tieflings’ under their breaths. But nobody is here to stop him from looking at the stars.
