Summary
The sound of flesh scrabbling over brick drew Wriothesley from his internal reverie, all senses immediately on high alert for what he suspected to be an imminent attack. His grip tightened around the end of the crowbar, his other hand reaching tentatively for the shotgun slung over his shoulder. He'd hate to waste a shot on nothing; bullets for it were few and far between, fished out from behind couches and inside the drawers of what might have once been kitchen cabinets, but were now rotted shells overflowing with the faded echoes of a time long gone, leaking despair and metallic decay.
The scuffling moved higher, and Wriothesley chanced an upwards glance at the rows and rows of cells that lined the two floors above him. It was pitch black, the lights set to timers that only lasted so long. There was a subtle flash of a pale, fleshy leg, before the wayward limb dipped further up and out of sight around the edge of a cell.
He just wanted to get out of Silent Hill and go the fuck home.
