Hermione nearly choked on her own spit as she watched the scene unfold. As if from an alternate reality, she watched as Ron slowly opened the sliding glass door. He was shirtless, his bare chest and rippling abs unusually vivid in the moonlight. Hermione tried to look away, but if she had she wouldn't have noticed what happened next.
Ron gave the small cantankerous owl a treat. While the owl was busy engulfing his midnight snack, Ron pulled what looked to be a note tied to its leg. Hermione's mouth dropped. She'd heard of carrier pigeons, but carrier owls? Who did that? Also, why was he getting carrier owl notes in the middle of the night? Where were they coming from?
When she thought Ron Weasley couldn't get any more intriguing, something like this happened. Hermione had no idea what to do with this information. She was simultaneously more turned on, freaked out, and curious than she had been up until this point.
