Summary
“Cait,” Vi says sternly. Caitlyn sports an endlessly satisfied look on her face, like a cat lazed out in a spot of sunlight. It makes Vi’s knees feel like jelly.
“You’re a dick,” Vi says.
“Sorry,” Caitlyn says. “I’ve been wanting to do that for hours.” She does actually look apologetic, surprisingly, with her eyes wide and softened around the edges, and all it does is make Vi hornier.
“You’re blushing,” Caitlyn says.
“I’m not,” Vi says, a little too quick. “I’m trying to make sure your fractured ribs don’t puncture a lung. Since I’m the only one who currently seems worried about that happening.” She scowls. Or, she tries to, at least. She has no idea if it actually comes off that way.
Caitlyn only sways a little on her feet, dragging a lithe finger right across Vi’s cheekbone. “You are,” she murmurs. Her hand moves down, teasing at the collar of Vi’s shirt. “All the way down to here. It matches your hair.”

“No,” Caitlyn says flatly.
“When was the last time you courted someone?”
They blink at each other.
Left in varying states of confusion, indeed. Now more akin to the whiplash of being tossed off a horse.
“I don’t see how that’s any of your business.”
“Oof.” Vi grimaces. “So it’s been a while, then.”
Caitlyn balks. “Are you–”
Prince Caitlyn and Prince Vi have an impromptu meeting years in the making. It goes horribly. Shenanigans ensue.

“Hey,” Vi says, running a thumb soothingly along Caitlyn’s pulse, and though Caitlyn doesn’t break her focus, the tension she holds in her jaw relaxes. “I happen to have firsthand experience on how good you are with your hands, Cupcake.” There’s a husk across her tone that she doesn’t really mean to let out, but— well, that’s a lie. That’s exactly what she’s going for. “You can handle a little haircut.”
Caitlyn shudders as the words meet the air. Vi tries not to smirk in satisfaction.
“You can’t say such things while I’m holding a pair of shears so close to your neck,” Caitlyn says lowly, voice dripping down like molasses. “It’s dangerous.” Her chiding whispers dance across Vi’s cheekbone, the blunt side of the blade making contact with Vi’s skin, and— oh. Vi’s definitely the one shuddering now.
Vi chuckles to hide the shiver curling up her spine. “I really affect you that much?”
Caitlyn hums, dragging her fingers through Vi’s damp bangs to measure their length. “Coy isn’t a good look on you.”

She let Ambessa’s honeyed words scratch her scalp and bathe her bones. She let her teach her, let her train her, let her mold her. Knuckles nicked and scabbed and shorn, fibrous tissue straining and tearing until it was stitched back together firmer. Stronger. Body every day left bruised, bloodied, and raw before eventually forming into calluses coddling her skin– and scar tissue encasing her heart.
Every second was spent melting the alloys, scraping away the imperfections, quelching the scalding heat over and over until it became impervious steel. She honed herself into a weapon with one sole purpose.
The woman she left, pleading and stricken, standing in the middle of the street, calling her name, calling after her, tone begging her to halt her strides, to turn around, to look just once more.
Caitlyn didn’t. She couldn’t.

F1 drivers and MotoGP riders don't have much reason to interact with how busy their circuits are but these are names that need no introduction, sixteen world championships and countless firsts between them. It is nice to finally meet the Caitlyn Kiramman in person after all those interview questions.
Caitlyn Kiramman is the first woman to win a F1 race. Will you be the first to win a MotoGP race, Vi Lanes?
