Belly Conklin is new to the glitz and glamour of celebrity life, being an influencer through her youtube account for almost eight years of her life it was only very recent when she starts getting invites from product events or movie premiers. One night when a luxury brand reach for her and invite her for a product launching, everything goes well in the said event until she saw Conrad Fisher, the nation's boyfriend as what he calls him after his latest movie becomes a hit.
Anyone who ever meet Conrad will always fall for his charm and handsome face, well everyone except Belly who hates the guy who broke her closest cousin's heart Krystal. "Belly, look, in all seriousness," he says, catching his breath but still grinning, "you can't hire an escort. I can’t believe Agnes actually suggested that."
My eyes widen. "Oh my god, Conrad, no! She wasn't suggesting I hire an escort. She was suggesting..."
The words die in my throat. I trail off, looking at him—really looking at him—and realise there is no version of reality where I can comfortably say, 'She was suggesting you pretend to be my fake boyfriend so I can trick my ex into thinking I'm dating a brilliant, brooding Stanford doctor.'
"What?" Conrad asks, his smile softening into something more curious, more focused.
"What'd I miss?" Agnes’s voice cuts through the air as she slides back into the booth, drink in hand, sounding way too cheerful for someone who just abandoned her post. She looks between us, her eyebrows practically reaching her hairline when she sees how close we’re sitting.

Conrad has had various scars across his body for as long as Belly has known him. Using each line, every ridge as a metric system, she can measure the events of his life by his scars. She knows he was six years old when he earned the small dot on the front of his right shin from running into a rock along the beach; nine years old when he got a thin, inch long zigzag on his left forearm while hiking with his Boy Scout troop in the Spring. She’s read the story of his life through the marks on his body with her fingers, her lips, her tongue, to the point where she can map him with her eyes closed.
