    “I need you Lex… need you now.” Kaiser said breathlessly as he scratched at Ness’ back, “I’ve been waiting so long… way too long.”
    Ness knew he wasn’t talking about this particular situation. He knew Kaiser wanted Ness to take control earlier, but probably wasn’t ready to admit that to himself, let alone to Ness. And he kicked himself for not realizing sooner, for not doing everything he could to make Kaiser happy.
