Summary
Tanjirou is about to ask him what he’s doing there when the hashira moves and puts his own haori on the young demon slayer’s shoulders.
Blinking in confusion, Tanjirou glances up at Tomioka again only to see that he’s looking away from him again. His cheeks are slightly pink.
“You looked like you were cold.”
He’s not. The weather is amazing. However, he doesn’t want to make him feel bad (after all he’s done for Nezuko) so he thanks him and puts it on.
Besides, his uniform and his haori are being washed at the moment so he supposes it’s fine to borrow Tomioka’s for a while.
It smells just like him; like ocean water, like salt… Like a river. All at the same time.

Giyu blinks up at him, momentarily stunned, and Tanjiro realizes—with a jolt of embarrassment—that he’s straddling the Water Hashira, his knees on either side of Giyu’s hips, hands braced on his chest to steady himself.
Tanjiro freezes, suddenly hyper-aware of every point of contact between their bodies. Giyu's chest rises and falls rapidly beneath his palms, his breath coming in short pants. Their faces are mere inches apart, so close Tanjiro can see the flecks of gray in Giyu's deep blue eyes.
He moves to get up, but as he shifts his weight, he suddenly feels something firm pressing against his bottom. The sensation makes him pause, his breath catching in his throat.

Tanjiro’s handwriting is messy, frantic strokes crammed onto the page as he scribbles out the letter to Uzui. His cheeks burn hot, his fingers trembling just enough to smudge the ink. He tries to keep his breathing steady, but it’s hard when everything inside him feels like it’s tilting sideways.
He knew the Entertainment District would be dangerous. He expected risk. Expected close calls. But he didn’t see this coming.
He never would’ve thought the okami-san would suggest selling him.
Not so soon, at least.
