Summary
Joseph had always dreamt of flying—being regaled with stories as a kid of the incremental march towards flight, and the veritable explosion of flying machines that happened after, instilled in him a sense of wonder at the infinite world aloft. So, naturally, when the war in Europe broke out in ‘39, he took advantage of his father’s position in Britain’s Royal Air Force and hopped the first ocean liner to Southampton, eager to finally take to the skies.
But when he’s shot down over the Alps and finds himself beaten to hell and back with a guarded (and frankly grumpy) Italian pilot who claims to be just as stranded, he’s forced to work with the very enemy he’s been fighting for the past 12 months. Can they put aside their differences to survive the dead of winter and get back home?

Summary
His uncle’s crash is up there with the worst moments of his life, and he was only a kid; realizing he had feelings for a certain French cousin had been close second (thank God that crush had faded) but this might be the scariest moment he is faced in a long, long time. Because right now he is stranded in the middle of God knows where, with two bars of signal (standing on a rock to get that second bar) waiting for tio Ayrton to pick up, and when he does, he has to inform him that his uncle is currently sitting against a tree in the middle of an ancient French forest with a sprained ankle because of Bruno; and all of this it wouldn’t be so bad (although tio Beco tends to be irrational with anything involving seu marido) if it wasn’t because he is no longer that, his husband that is, they are separated (fourth most traumatic experience of Bruno’s life) and now suddenly the ringing ends.
OR
Bruno Senna is trying to get his uncles back together, and it gets messy.
