Summary
Arranged marriages are typically based on the acquisition of power, resources, and status. There is no arrangement if nothing of value can be exchanged.
Sentinel Prime has everything a mech could want such as money, power, and an ill-gotten title. The Council wants him to conjunx another bot to establish a lineage that doesn’t rely on Primus and he’s only searching for one thing he doesn’t have – control.
Starscream had just returned from a failed expedition, still mourning the loss of his partner, and he is told he had been promised to Sentinel Prime in an under-the-table deal between the Council and his carrier over a century ago.
Fifty decades later, his situation has only gotten worse. He can no longer fly, his every move is being watched, and Sentinel is beginning to sense his limitations.Fifty decades later and this control arrangement is about to end, and Starscream wants out.

Summary
The systems we are born into do not allow for change to occur. We try to bend and break the molds we were born into, believe what we are told - that we were born with the innate ability to adapt and force change to occur even when the circumstances don't call for it but only because we believe ourselves to hold that power.
Starscream was born in that system. He had to be obedient. He had to perform his duties. He had to be perfect. It wasn't until he found love did he decide he had been wanting to break free all along. It wasn't until he had a blade pressed into his hands did he force his future to change. It wasn't until the end when he realized that everything was backwards and the power to change had been in someone else's hands all along.
