“Well, you remind me of a lot of things actually,” Taehyung says thoughtfully, “Old books, the morning sun, the smell of the earth after it rains, lightning, empty ink bottles, old clothes, the residue at the bottom of a coffee cup…”
Seokjin raises a skeptical brow at that last one, and Taehyung giggles softly, his hand brushing against Seokjin’s in the space between them. His gaze drifts upward, as if searching for the right words. "My point is, you remind me of things that are timeless. Inevitable. Comforting.”
His eyes return to Seokjin’s. “From the moment I met you, I felt like I knew you, or maybe recognized you. I don't know.” His voice softens. “But I just knew, deep down, that this... us, it wasn’t optional. We were always going to end up like this.”
