Arthur leaned back on the velvet cushions, watching him. “Hmm, yes, technically.”
Sonic scowled at the vague answer. “Exactly. So what kind of messed-up royal logic makes you think I should wear a maid outfit to get his attention?”

Summary
Shadow reached the bathroom.
Cold, ugly white light hummed through the crack in the door. Everything else in the apartment was dark. Only this room dared to glow.
He pushed the door open.
Sonic was on the tile floor, back to the door, chest shaking with uneven breaths. His arms were held close to him, trembling hands pressed to his skin, red slipping past his fingers no matter how hard he tried to hide it. His breath hitched again, a broken sound he bit back like even pain had to be quiet.
OR
After Sonic and "his friends" are free from Eggman's attacks, Sonic has a hard time adapting to a normal life, making everyone turn on him.
