"If you want to kill me, then kill me," Suguru spoke, hushed amongst the crowd yet the only noise Satoru's ears perceived. "There would be a point to that."
"I'll be lonely."
Suguru halted abruptly, going rigid at the sound of Satoru's voice. Satoru's breath shuddered, short puffs of air doing nothing to quell his spasming lungs, and he squeezed the sides of his uniform as if to curl in on himself.
"I'll be lonely," he tried again, though his voice only cracked more as tears blurred his vision. "Without you. I'll be lonely without you, Suguru."
And by some miracle, Suguru turned back around.

The pheromones rolling off the Gojo clan heir were nearly visible with how strong they were, and Geto once again thanked their lucky stars that they were far enough away from civilization that no one else should stumble upon them.The night was cool, and there was a breeze; there would have been no way to keep Gojo’s scent away when it was soaking through the medical-grade scent blockers.
“Two years.” He gasped out, forehead nearly to the ground as he panted. Suguru froze, blood draining from his face as he looked through the bag Shoko had given him.
“What?”
“You fuckin’ heard me.” Satoru was panting now, pulling off his uniform top and tossing it away, revealing his sweat-soaked compression shirt. “I’m fucked. I’m fucked.”

The silence drags for so long that Megumi’s not sure if it’s seconds that have passed, or minutes, or hours.
“Does it help?” he finally asks.
Yuuji hesitates before answering; his gaze flicks to the jacket, dark with guilt, then back to Megumi’s face, searching for judgment and finding only quiet permission. He lets out a shaky exhale and gives a tiny, almost imperceptible nod. “Sometimes,” he whispers.
It’s the most honest thing he’s said all night.
