    Ekko raised a brow. Normally, he’d be more charitable, but his sleep-deprived mind was in control. “Pretty sure they’re only valuable underwater?”
    The mermaid snorted, slightly disgusted with him, he could tell. “If you ever need help, snap it in half, and it’ll come.”

    Ekko was always convinced he would become a sailor and make the sea his home. A dream that died the moment his mother drowned on a voyage, lost to storm-tossed waves. He now lives on the edge of Zaun, operating the little lighthouse that guides ships home. That was the most he would ever love the water. That was the closest he would get to the sea.
