Work Text:
- Setting:
- Set after Marble Hornets, during the summer (set around 3 days after The Time Traveler's Pig)
- I'm messing with the timeline a bit because Gravity Falls aired in 2012 and Marble Hornets ended in 2014
- Slightly based on theories from Night Mind’s Explained videos mixed with personal headcanon
- Tim never worked for the Operator in his masked state but was affiliated with TTA/Hoodie for a short period of time
- Was not possessed/A Proxy for the Operator, but the operator did influence his mind in some regard
- ToTheArk, Masky, Hoodie, or Skully do not appear in this (everyone is dead except Tim and Jessica but she's not in this)
- No romance in this
- Because I can't write romance and I don't ship anything from either series
- Tim has signs of depression, asocial tendencies, survivors guilt, and insomnia as a result of not only The Operator but the events in MH
- I'm not an expert on those issues so I can't say how accurate I could have portrayed them without seeming exaggerated or stereotypical
- Apologies if I do accidentally come off as stereotypical, I did not mean to
- Tim is still “infected by the Operator” and does not interact much with others unless they go out of their way to talk to him
- The Operator wants more victims and is drawn to Gravity Falls due to its supernatural magnetism, so placing Tim in a place like Gravity Falls is a possible gold mine of potential victims
- Honestly, the Operator doesn't really have a motive other than being a monster so I had to make one up
- The Operator is kind of a malicious force of nature more than anything
- I'm not an expert on those issues so I can't say how accurate I could have portrayed them without seeming exaggerated or stereotypical
- Set after Marble Hornets, during the summer (set around 3 days after The Time Traveler's Pig)
- Story:
- Set about a year after Marble Hornets ended
- Tim thinks he's safe from the Operator, lives outside of Alabama, alone
- Has little contact with Jessica or others, besides employers and a possible therapist/doctor
- Still needs his medication
- Pretty much lives in his car and hotels, and/or a small apartment
- Tries to hold steady work but it's difficult
- The Operator returns and attacks Tim
- Tim tries to run but gets overwhelmed by Operator Sickness, passes out, and is teleported away
- When Tim wakes up, he's in a forested area, dazed and confused, he keeps walking till he sees civilization
- His phone is dead/has no service so he can't call anyone
- He has his wallet, his phone/charger, the clothes on his back, and a pair of sunglasses
- Tim sees something in the distance assumes its The Operator and sprints out as fast as he can
- He finds Lazy Susan’s diner and asks for the nearest motel
- Pointed towards a motel, he rests and tries to leave town, Tim passes out and wakes up in his motel room again a few hours later
- He tries about 3 more times but always finds himself within town limits.
- Figuring since he can't leave, he should try to find some work
- Goes to the Mystery Shack and asks Stan about a job
- It's the only place that will hire him on such short notice and without question
- He ends up being hired as the janitor/part-time cashier when Wendy is not there
- Tim is vulnerable to the attacks until he gets a refill on his medication
- it takes a bit to get the medicine in but he's grateful he didnt suffer any major effects of Operator Sickness
- Tim ends up living in the hidden room in the shack, but pays rent
- There was a lot of bribing involved with this decision
- Has to share the room with Soos, because it is technically his break room
- Tim is vulnerable to the attacks until he gets a refill on his medication
- Tim meets the Mystery Twins and crew
- Mabel is more open to meeting him, thinks Tim is just shy and needs to break out of his shell
- Dipper is more suspicious but warms up soon enough
- A random guy from nowhere shows up out of nowhere to an already strange town, asks for a job on the spot, no car, house, and looks like he hasn't slept in many days is at the very least, slightly concerning
- Stan doesn't care, he's fine getting more help for the shack without hearing the complaints about health and safety compliance
- Dipper and Mabel let him know that Gravity Falls is filled with supernatural/paranormal creatures and he should be on guard for anything that can happen
- Tim processes this information and looks unfazed on the outside, but on the inside he is screaming.
- His very first encounter was with the gnomes
- It did not end well
- Dipper/Mabel ask Tim about his life but he's a bit apprehensive to mention anything related to Marble Hornets/his past
- Makes up some stuff but tries to be vague
- Absolutely refuses to talk about his childhood at the hospital
- Mentions college and having some friends in passing, says he doesn't talk to them anymore
- One day Dipper starts a video diary for mysterious things he finds in Gravity Falls (Dipper's Guide to the Unexplained)
- He found a camera in the closet and asks Stan if he could use it
- Tim sees this and pulls Dipper aside and asks for him to do two things:
- 1. Keep Tim out of frame as much as possible
- 2. If he starts coughing or becomes nauseated, stop recording and go to the nearest (i.e. safest) house/place
- Excuse for the former: Tim is camera shy
- Excuse for the latter: Gravity Falls has many unidentified creatures not found in the journal, so one that affects a person in that way is not far fetched
- It's not that popular, few hundred views, about 1000 in total, very few subscribers
- Hardly anyone believes him, thinks he making a web series much to Dipper's chagrin
- (After a few episodes) Dipper accidentally catches Tim in frame and uploads it to his YouTube channel (It’s called Gravity Falls Explored or something)
- One of his comments recognizes Tim, They don't remember where but say he looks familiar
- Makes Dipper wonder if Tim is slightly famous or something
- Dipper catches sight of the Operator in the background once during an episode but doesn't notice him (he gets a light cough but it goes away after a day or two)
- He doesn't upload this episode
- Dipper decides to end the series to focus on the journals
- Tim is both happy and a bit sad he ended it because he knew Dipper liked making the videos but with The Operator around he doesnt want history to repeat itself
- Dipper is “marked” by Bill Cipher in a way (The Cipher Circle), so The Operator can’t really do much to him or others on the wheel other than give them Operator Sickness
- Concept idea for Summerween
- Tim is asked by Stan to watch the kids while they get candy
- Mostly because he wants to scare the trick or treaters and Tim might get in the way
- Tims fine with it, Though he refuses to dress up for obvious reasons
- Soos asks why he doesn't dress up and Tim gives a vague 'its a long story' answer
- Tim literally walks down the stairs ready to chaperone when hes told by the kids they need to collect candy so they dont get eaten
- Tim begins to question his life choices
- He's a bit impatient with the whole thing because not only are their lives on the line but Dipper is not cooperating
- Tim kind of has to pep talk Dipper into doing the whole thing, saying how he wasnt able to do things like this as a kid and he should enjoy it while it lasts which does the trick
- Mabel does ask if he ever did dress up to get candy or scare people
- Tim says that him and Brian dressed up a did a couple times and scared their friends but since they grew apart it doesnt feel right to do it anymore
- He also says their costumes were so bad he refuses to describe them, no matter how much the kids ask
- Tim says that him and Brian dressed up a did a couple times and scared their friends but since they grew apart it doesnt feel right to do it anymore
- Mabel does ask if he ever did dress up to get candy or scare people
- They beat the Summerween Trickster and Tim decides he's never eating candy again, he can deal with ghosts, gnomes, conspiracies, werewolves, The Operator, but sentient candy crosses the line.
- Tim is asked by Stan to watch the kids while they get candy
- Not What He Seems and Tale of Two Stans:
- Tim isn't surprised that Stan has a twin, in fact, he's not even surprised that Ford was trapped in another dimension or the fact there are other dimensions (Considering what he's been through, he doesn't get very surprised anymore)
- Was working early that day and was put in custody by the Gov. Agents until he was released that night
- While in jail he felt the anti-gravity effects that happened from the portal
- Was very worried about the others being hurt
- His first meeting with Ford was very awkward and less than ideal
- Tim just ran from jail to the shack and kind of pushes Ford to the side to make sure Dipper and Mabel were ok
- After that, Ford demands Stan explain who Tim is
- Ford is angry that Stan gave Tim (to Ford a complete stranger) a room in the house and kind of takes it out on Tim
- They temporaily share the spare room to sleep in until Tim decides hes done with Ford and moves to the couch
- Tim feels sympathy towards both Stans
- He knows what its like to lose people he cares about/have them be consumed by their own curiosity that it hurt them and others
- Tim attempts at first to be friendly to Ford who brushes it off and acts standoff-ish towards Tim
- Ford had no intention in befriending Tim
- Ford had every intention in kicking Tim out once the Summer is over
- Was working early that day and was put in custody by the Gov. Agents until he was released that night
- Ford finds Tim suspicious, more so than Dipper did and keeps questioning him non-stop, leading to many arguments/confrontations
- Sometimes Stan is the one telling Ford to quit interrogating Tim
- Tim becomes very irritated with Ford, sometimes to the point of refusing to be in the same room as him
- Tim ends up being forced to explain the Operator, some of his medical history, Jay, Alex, and Brian (although vaguely)
- The inciting incident is when Ford first sees the Operator and Tim hurries him away before any symptoms occur
- Says it followed him his entire life and can't get rid of it no matter what and learned to live with it
- When asked why he never brought it up before, he claims that bringing attention to The Operator gives it incentive to follow them, making the person obsessed with it and losing themselves.
- He also explains that the Operator is why he told Dipper to be careful with the camera and was worried that he would end up obsessively recording like Alex or Jay
- Tim tries to reassure them all that he is not a danger to anyone but it makes things tense for both sets of twins
- Tim never mentions his time as Masky, nor his involvement with ToTheArk or Hoodie
- Tim hopes Ford never learns how to use Google/YouTube
- About 2 weeks after Ford shows up, that hope is gone when Tim has enough of the constant interrogation which has increased to the point that Tim can't go 3 feet without Ford demanding answers about the Operator
- At one point Tim compares Ford to Jay before leaving the shack, leaving Ford confused
- Tim can't even give him answers because he knows very little about The Operator in the first place
- In a fit of anger he yells something along the lines of "if your so curious why not watch Marble Hornets", before realizing his mistake
- This was heard by everyone in the shack
- Dipper is the one to ask what it is and Tim knows he can't hide it anymore
- Decides to just show everyone Marble Hornets/ToTheArk, He sets up a laptop/computer and tells them to sit down and watch
- All this he says a frustrated/angry/tired voice
- At first, they think it's just a series he was in, saying that the effects look great for an amateur production
- Starts with Mabel joking about it being a movie night and Stan riffing on the first few episodes hoping to get a reaction out of Tim
- They assume the series is based on The Operator and its an actor playing him
- Ford and Dipper get a kick out of solving ToTheArk's codes
- They point out Tim's first appearance and ask why didnt he tell them he was an actor
- Every attempt to get a rise out of Tim isn't working because Tim isn't saying anything
- He's being very quiet and won't respond to their praise/critique of his or the others "acting" in the series
- The most he's doing is cringing and looking more upset the more they go through the series
- When Masky appears, he becomes still, stiff even
- When he sees Jay's face he's visibly upset
- Whenever Alex is on screen he looks angry/tense
- When they get to the entry when Alex lies that everyone went missing he looks furious but refuses to tell anyone why
- Dipper asks if he needs to take a break but Tim lies and says no and tells Dipper to keep watching
- Tim has to leave the room at one point and calm down
- He says he's fine to continue but even then Tim looks like he's about to break
- Then the Pines family start to realize it's not fake, it is very much real
- When they get to the entry where his leg is broken by Alex, Tim's unconsciously rubbing his leg
- When the Masky reveal happened none of them knew what to say
- Whenever they glance at Tim's expression throughout, they wonder what happens at the end
- They get a little more than halfway through the series (before Entry 49) before they had enough, Stan shuts the computer off
- And just like that things go all to hell
- Dipper and Mabel are startled/scared because the guy they knew over the Summer was possibly in a worse state/had worse secrets than Stan had
- They don't know what to think and are still processing what they saw
- For Dipper, it's like thinking back and saying to himself that he knew he should have listened to his instincts and worried about what Tim will do now
- For Mabel, she's trying (unsuccessfully) to find an excuse for why he does some of the stuff he did in MH knowing that Tim is/was good to them and others in the shack
- They don't know what to think and are still processing what they saw
- Soos thinks he's still a good person but is misguided (like Mabel was with Stan in Not What He Seems) because he's seemed genuinely nice, but is still showing concern over the safety of the kids
- Stan and Ford are mad:
- Ford accuses Tim of infecting Jay, Alex, Brian, and Jessica, and believes he was possessed by the Operator
- Stan starts demanding to know what happened to the others in the series and if Tim did anything to them
- They didn't see the last few episodes so they don't know he killed Alex
- They don't know that Jessica is alive
- They don't know about Jay and Brian's death
- They don't know Alex is the reason Sarah and Seth are gone
- They would be worried about him infecting anyone with Operator Sickness
- Tim argues that he tried to stay away but they kept pulling him in
- Stan would argue that if he wanted to stay away Tim should not have asked to stay in the shack in the first place
- The arguing becomes more mindless shouting and less about the topic at hand
- Tim is thrown out, he leaves and collapses in the middle of the woods
- Tim is so emotionally drained, stressed, and exhausted at this point, forced to relive what happened, he just doesn't care anymore
- Thinks it would be for the best that he stays away from everyone
- At first, they think it's just a series he was in, saying that the effects look great for an amateur production
- All this he says a frustrated/angry/tired voice
- No one sees Tim for a few days, they (i.e. Dipper and Mabel) start trying to look for him
- Theres a household ban on watching the rest of MH because of what happened the other night
- No one is brave enough to watch the rest since they know something bad happens in the end
- Stan and Ford are hesitant to let the twins search for Tim, but knowing Dipper and Mabel, they would just sneak out and look for Tim by themselves so they go with them for safety
- They also want the truth about everything
- Theres a household ban on watching the rest of MH because of what happened the other night
- That same night Tim is visited by Bill Cipher in a dream
- Bill taunts him for being a failure of a friend, a virus, and tries to make a deal with him
- The deal: Make the Pines family like him again, have them (and Tim) forget his past, and in exchange, Tim helps Bill with an errand
- aka let him possess Tim for a short time
- Sees Tim as an easy way to get his hands on the Dimensional Rift
- The deal: Make the Pines family like him again, have them (and Tim) forget his past, and in exchange, Tim helps Bill with an errand
- Tim sees through his BS and declines
- Bill keeps ramping up the deal, promising that his friends will come back and that he can erase the Operator permanently
- Tim still declines saying it won't change anything and believes it is impossible to do what Bill is promising
- He's never met or heard of Bill because Dipper and Mabel forgot to tell him
- To Tim this is just a lucid dream/nightmare that has no meaning
- In retaliation, Bill amps his mocking to 11 and forces Tim to wear his Masky outfit, Tim can’t take off the mask no matter how hard he pulls (it feels like he's pulling and ripping at his own skin), hearing Jay, Brian, and Alex’s voices playing over and over in his head, mocking him, yelling, and blaming him for their deaths, until they're louder than Tim’s own thoughts
- Tim wakes up in a cold sweat, shaking, crying, and distraught at the night terror Bill gave him
- Bill taunts him for being a failure of a friend, a virus, and tries to make a deal with him
- The Pines find him soon after and try to reconcile, saying they were sorry and were acting based on what they saw through Jay’s camera and not the bigger picture
- They see that Tim is still in a panic and try to calm him down but are unsuccessful
- Tim, still shaken from Bill, starts to breakdown because he had to push down so many issues, anxieties and thoughts for so long and his metaphorical mask just crumbles
- It starts off with him shouting his feelings out but slowly becomes quieter and it devolves from there
- Tim blames himself for bringing The Operator to the town
- At some point, he offhandedly mentions how he's stuck in GF and can't leave even if he tries
- When Tim eventually calms down:
- Dipper and Ford apologize for being suspicious and interrogative about his life
- Ford promises to find a way to get Tim out of Gravity Falls no matter what
- Mabel apologizes for being pushy and trying to force him out of his comfort zone
- Stan apologizes in his own way for how he treated him as an employee/throwing him out
- Dipper and Ford apologize for being suspicious and interrogative about his life
- Tim forgives them but tries to tell his side of the story since they got only one perspective
- Tim tells them about his encounter with Bill, they fill him in on the details
- He tells them they need to finish watching the rest of Marble Hornets for the full explanation
- Tim tries to fill in the blanks on what was not shown on camera when he can
- This still causes him stress but feels like he needs to be there to give context even if he does not like it
- He would not let Mabel and Dipper see the rest of the series, even tells them they shouldn't see what happens
- He explains the rest of the series (albeit with some vaguery) to them later so they aren't traumatized by what him and Alex did
- He does have to explain that he inadvertently caused Jay and Brian's deaths and that he had no other choice but to kill Alex
- Tim doesn't try to find excuses for his actions, but says that he had to stop Alex no matter what lest others would get hurt
- He says his biggest regret was not being able to save everyone, including Alex, who he believes was affected just as badly as himself
- Jay's death especially since he believed it could have been prevented if he stayed with Jay at his house
- He explains the rest of the series (albeit with some vaguery) to them later so they aren't traumatized by what him and Alex did
- When they return to the shack Tim just collapses onto the couch, he doesnt really speak or do much for the next few days because he's so drained
- The rest of the Household try to make him comfortable while he's like this
- Things are tense in the Mystery Shack for a bit, but things go back to "normal" after a while
- It becomes a soft rule that no one mentions anything MH related in front of Tim unless he starts talking about it first
- Tim isn't surprised that Stan has a twin, in fact, he's not even surprised that Ford was trapped in another dimension or the fact there are other dimensions (Considering what he's been through, he doesn't get very surprised anymore)
- Dungeons, Dungeons, and More Dungeons, Stanchurian Candidate, & The Last Mabelcorn
- Tim spends most of his time with Ford, he gets taken to the other secret room (the one Ford brought Dipper to) to get his mind protected from outside forces (aka Bill)
- Tim knows little to nothing about DDnmD and does not have time for the town's politics (also I have no idea how I would implement him)
- At most I would put him in the background reading a book or something
- You ask Tim about his opinion about government policies and his mind just plays the Dial Up tone
- He gets asked if he wants to do a campaign in DDnmD and Tim gets flashbacks to college where him and Brian attempted to play a campaign TTRPG with it ending in a TPK on the first session, so he declines
- Got knocked out by fairy dust as a test run by the girls, was put on the couch and woke up hours later
- "Hey, Tim! Think fast!" - Mabel as she chucks fairy dust into his face
- Though he high fives Mabel for punching a unicorn when he wakes up
- Ford encounters the Operator for a prolonged period of time while trying to study it and ends up with little to no symptoms much to Tim’s surprise
- Either due to the metal plate in his head or the fact he has been in other dimensions for so long, he isn't majorly affected by the Operator
- Tim is rightfully concerned that Ford would willingly seek out The Operator and then proceeds to chew him out
- Ford tries to assure him he feels fine but Tim isn't having any of it and keeps telling Ford how much of an idiot he is for actively seeking out the thing he has seen in MH to be a dangerous entity
- Tim doesn't want to blame himself for causing another death from of The Operator
- Tim doesn't care if Ford says he's handled much worse, he should know better
- Ford questions Tim more about the Operator
- Ford wants to know who ToTheArk is (to find more info on the Operator) but Tim can’t remember who he was or if he even knew him in real life, thinks it would be a wild goose chase
- Tim explains that ToTheArk was more focused on Alex rather than the Operator
- For all he knows it could have just been Brian and him but is never truly sure
- If there was a third member he thinks it might have been Seth but he does not know if he is alive
- For all he knows it could have just been Brian and him but is never truly sure
- He also asks who the man in the skull mask/Skully was to which Tim says he doesnt know, to Tim's knowlege, he's never met them
- Tim reassures Ford that Jessica should be safe even though he hasn't seen her in a while.
- Tim explains that ToTheArk was more focused on Alex rather than the Operator
- Ford makes a small quip about others possibly having similar troubles to Tim and Tim says, “I wouldn't be surprised.”
- They both agree as a joke that the Operator would probably be from New Jersey
- Ford wants to know who ToTheArk is (to find more info on the Operator) but Tim can’t remember who he was or if he even knew him in real life, thinks it would be a wild goose chase
- They bond over supernatural creatures screwing them over
- They swap stories, crack a joke or two, generally trying to act like they are somewhat normal and not traumatized adults
- Sometimes they make these jokes in front of others and yes, they get stares
- Tim says a dark joke about his life in front of Soos by accident and Soos asks if Tim's good, Tim says he's fine just trying to cope with the trauma
- Tim knows little to nothing about DDnmD and does not have time for the town's politics (also I have no idea how I would implement him)
- Tim spends most of his time with Ford, he gets taken to the other secret room (the one Ford brought Dipper to) to get his mind protected from outside forces (aka Bill)
- Weirdmageddon
- Tim is working when Weirdmageddon happens, so he is unaffected due to the protection on the shack
- Him and Stan are in the vicinity of each other
- Tim goes out to find Dipper and Mabel and tries to avoid capture from Bill's minions
- Finds Dipper and Wendy and chaperones them while they try to get Mabel free
- Wendy and Tim fight over who drives the car, Wendy wins
- Finally meets Gideon and totally understands the hatred the Pines family has
- They go to Mabelland
- Tim does not like it at all, more so than Dipper
- Thinks he would much rather fend for himself outside in the apocalypse than be in this bright, shiny, Lisa Frank-looking, hellhole for another moment
- "Let's just find your sister before my eyes burn out of their sockets from all the neon" - Tim
- Mabelland's take on Tim's wants/”desires”
- His friends (Brian, Tim, Alex) alive, healthy and happy
- Him not constantly affected by the Operator
- This does not make him happy
- He has accepted the fact his friends are gone
- Finds it insulting
- To Tim it's like telling someone they need to be fixed
- Says that it won’t help him and isn't what he wants
- He storms off to cool down
- At some point he sees the Mabelland versions of Jay, Alex, and Brian and just lets all of his pent up emotions and guilt out to them
- He keeps apologizing about what happened and wishes things didn't turn out the way they did
- Tim knows he cant change the past and they aren't really there but he wanted to tell them sorry for so long
- It was more for the catharsis of being able to tell them
- The constructs of Jay, Alex, and Brain all forgive him but it rings hollow because its not actually them forgiving Tim and they truely dont understand why Tim is apologizing in the first place
- Then Tim leaves the figments behind, going back to Dipper to try and get Mabel out of her bubble
- Tim is on the side of reality in the case of reality vs fantasy
- They get out, things play out the same
- Tim stays behind when the others go to Bill's palace to free everyone, but is flung out of the shack-o-tron near the end of the fight
- While dazed, he begins to see the Operator nearby, about to abduct the remaining townsfolk
- Tim finally decides enough is enough and confronts the Operator
- Tim finds himself resisting the effects of Operator Sickness
- Gravity Falls's Weirdness Magnet and the mind protection from Ford makes Tim resistant to the Operator's attacks and allows for him to finally end his torment after so long
- The Operator's plan to use Tim to lure in victims backfires
- The same thing that kept Bill in Gravity Falls is the thing that helped Tim overcome the Operator
- This happens all the while Bill vs Pines family is happening
- He doesn't fight it physically but more in an "I won't let you control my life/hurt anyone I care about anymore" kind of way
- The Operator finally leaves him alone, permanently this time
- Tim goes to find the others and finds the shack in shambles
- Gravity Falls's Weirdness Magnet and the mind protection from Ford makes Tim resistant to the Operator's attacks and allows for him to finally end his torment after so long
- Tim's upset that Stan lost his memories, can relate due to the Operator erasing his memories
- Would try to help him regain them in any way he can
- Tim keeps working at the shack
- He can leave if he wants due to the Operator leaving him alone, but he chooses to stay
- Likes living in Gravity Falls, he finds it quiet and peaceful compared to where he used to live (plus the Operator can't do anything to him anymore or others in the town)
- Warmed up to the weirdness of the place
- The Mystery Twins last day in Gravity Falls/Birthday
- For their birthday, Tim gives Dipper a new camera for his videos and jokingly tells him to remember his two rules for recording putting more emphasis on the 2nd one, while Mabel gets more yarn and knitting supplies so she can make more sweaters (also 4lb of glitter shipped directly to their house)
- If he had to suffer from all the glitter all summer, her parents have to as well
- They say goodbye and its heartwarming
- Tim gives the bus driver a death glare along with Ford and Stan when Waddles isn't allowed on the bus
- When the bus pulls away, he's waving goodbye
- For their birthday, Tim gives Dipper a new camera for his videos and jokingly tells him to remember his two rules for recording putting more emphasis on the 2nd one, while Mabel gets more yarn and knitting supplies so she can make more sweaters (also 4lb of glitter shipped directly to their house)
- Tim’s interactions with the Gravity Falls Supernatural:
- Gnomes: try to take him in a fight after Tim insulted them, they failed miserably
- "What are you gonna do, fight me?" - Tim, probably
- "That's exactly what we're gonna do." - The Gnomes soon after
- They are in a tense turf war with Tim the victor everytime
- Summerween Trickster
- Tim had to watch the kids with Soos while they were trick or treating
- Nearly mistook the trickster for The Operator and was ready to throw hands with it to protect the kids
- Causes Tim to develop minor Caramelaphobia
- Manotaurs: met one in the woods once, there was a brawl, Tim had gained their respect
- Immovable Object vs Unstoppable Force
- Zombies: Grabbed a shovel and went all out
- Lots of pent up aggression/stress was released that night
- (Looking back at this, I made Tim fight a lot)
- Got shrunk by the shrink crystals but returned to normal size when Tim threatened to tell Stan about it
- Never goes near the bottomless pit, finds it strange him and Wendy are the only ones working that day
- Thinks Stan gave them a day off without telling him
- He kind of just starts reading outside while the episode's events occur
- When they get back he asks how their day was to which they say they don't want to talk about it
- Dinosaurs are alive, He does not know how to feel about this
- On one hand, childhood dream come true
- On the other hand, oh crap the dinosaurs are alive
- Gets roped into going into the bunker with the others, holds a decent fight against the shapeshifter
- AKA tackled the thing and giving the rest time to run
- Never goes into the Northwest Mansion
- Large crowd + Tim + Ghosts = not a good time
- Also his dislike for Pacifica's family
- Blind Eye Society: never get near him, Tim is so self-isolating that they don't know much about him
- Though had they tried to grab him, he would have fought back
- Tim wouldn't exactly be thrilled about the idea of a device that could wipe memories either
- Gnomes: try to take him in a fight after Tim insulted them, they failed miserably
- Tim’s relationships with the characters:
- Dipper: Reminds him of Jay except he has a brain cell, admires his intelligence/problem-solving skills, but Tim tries to reason with him that not all mysteries need to be solved
- Sometimes he would have to tell Dipper directly to stop focusing so much on the journal if he goes too deep
- At one point he just grabs the journal and tells him to play outside with Mabel for a bit
- He's unintentionally projecting his guilt of failing to save Jay onto Dipper
- Dipper tries ask Tim for dating advice, to which Tim laughs nervously because he's never dated anyone
- Then he says that they are way to young to start dating
- Sometimes he would have to tell Dipper directly to stop focusing so much on the journal if he goes too deep
- Mabel: Tim likes her, amused by her antics, though can get slightly annoyed by her wanting to push him out of his bubble
- Wishes she would stop getting glitter everywhere (his hair, his shoes, his jacket, his food)
- One time she gave Tim her Mabel Juice because she saw how exausted he was and he couldn't sleep for 3 days
- The man was seeing into the 4th dimension from the evil concoction, he was wired
- When he finally collapsed from exaustion he woke up 20 hours later lying on the couch, covered in blankets with Waddles on top of him
- This caused a household ban on Mabel Juice
- Mabel gives Tim a sweater with a plaid design on it because he wears his plaid shirt a lot
- At some point, Tim tells her that she can be a bit pushy with her extroverted personality and needs to respect boundaries
- Mabel asks Tim to look after Waddles if she can't find anyone else to look after him
- Waddles becomes Tim's reading buddy on his break time
- The Twins in general:
- Ends up more often than not helping at least with some of their antics to keep them safe/from destroying any property
- Becomes kind of the tired older brother figure to them
- Essentially has to babysit them to make sure the shack does not get set on fire while Stan is away
- Life sucks a little less for Tim when hanging out with them
- He will listen to Dipper's and Mabels ramblings while hes doing his job/on a break
- He's like an older brother listening to his younger siblings explaining their new interest
- After the Marble Hornets reveal, Mabel ask if since millions of people saw Tim in his masked state, if fans (its believed that MH is just a web series) ever was given a name
- Reluctantly, Tim tells them "fans" called him Masky and Brian: Hoody, making the twins laugh at how non-threatening the names are
- He pays them 20 bucks each to swear not to tell anyone else
- He also tells them to never look up MH stuff online for many, many reasons
- Ends up more often than not helping at least with some of their antics to keep them safe/from destroying any property
- Soos: Nice to him, does not see him as bad, they don't really hang out all that much but they share the hidden room in the shack
- Soos gives him basic advice for working at the shack
- Essentially trains Tim for his job
- When Tim first got hired, Soos thought he was gonna get replaced, but Tim cleared it up so there wasn't any hard feelings
- They're sorta friends
- Soos makes it his mission to make Tim crack a smile at least once, he has succeeded in doing this twice
- When its Tim's day off and he's sleeping in, Soos trys to be as quiet as possible on his breaks or goes outside to not disturb him
- During Soos and the Real Girl, he asks Tim for dating advice, Tim desperately tries to change the subject to literally anything else
- Wendy: Tim sees her as another employee, but she thinks he needs a year-long break with how stressed/sleep-deprived he looks
- Tim thinks shes the most normal person out of all the townsfolk
- She would share memes with him regardless of their quality
- Stan: Tim just sees him as another employer/landlord, but warms up to him
- Tim is amazed by how easily Stan can con tourists
- Tim is a decent employee and does what he can to help around
- Stan asks Tim to keep an eye on the twins when they go mystery hunting
- Says he would let Tim sleep in the spare room rent-free if he does and Tim agrees
- Ford: Suspicious of Tim at first, but after the whole MH viewing fiasco, they get become more friendly,
- Most of the time they're just talking about The Operator and Ford trying to figure out why its attached to Tim specifially
- Ford finds Tim's life fascinating albeit tragic
- They kind of become trauma-buddies
- Pacifica: Not interested in knowing her and does not like how she treats others, especially Mabel
- Mabel says shes not all that bad but Tim is a bit hesitant to trust her on that
- Gideon: Knows about Gideon from secondhand info but never interacted with him until Weirdmageddon
- When told how to deal with Gideon on the off chance they meet, Stan just tells him thwack him with a broom and maybe he'll go away
- Though I think Gideon would be scared of Tim if they met due to Tim naturally not being phased by his cutesie act
- In a hypothetical situation where they first meet:
- Gideon would try to play innocent to get his way which doesn't work on Tim who has already been told about Gideon
- He then tries to force Tim to spy on the Pines family by threatening to leak his medical documents (that he stole) to which Tim smiles, picks him up by the scruff, laughs at him, and says that info is already public knowledge then drop kicks him across the yard
- During the Dreamscapers episodes, Tim called in sick a few days and stayed at the motel while Gideon got the deed
- He ran out of medication and was more effected by Operator Sickness and did not want to cause a panic
- Tim was a bit out of it to really know what was going on
- Was one hell of a story when he returned
- When told how to deal with Gideon on the off chance they meet, Stan just tells him thwack him with a broom and maybe he'll go away
- Bill: Sees Tim as a useless skin puppet, a minor inconvenience at best, fun to mess with him the one time they met
- Extremely pissed Tim saw through his manipulation when Tim refused to take his deal
- Decides when he's done dealing with the Pines family, Tim is next
- During Weirdmageddon Part 3, Bill would say in a joking (but threatening) manner to Dipper and Mabel that he was gonna make Tim suffer more than anything "that old stick in the mud" could ever do because he helped/was close to them and rejected his deal
- (Bill was literally about to murder Mabel in the part 3, he wouldn't be above torture)
- I think Tim would see the Cipher Statue and get really tempted to smash it with a sledgehammer
- Dipper: Reminds him of Jay except he has a brain cell, admires his intelligence/problem-solving skills, but Tim tries to reason with him that not all mysteries need to be solved
- Operator Interactions:
- If Tim is in the vicinity of others when the Operator is near, he’ll try to get them to a different place to limit interaction, thus limiting the symptoms and the chance of them being taken
- If Dipper and/or Mabel are in Operators range, Tim just grabs both of them and bolts for the shack
- This happens several times to the point the twins make it an inside joke among themselves
- When it first happen's Tim says he thought he saw something dangerous to which the Pines twins kind of laugh it off saying they could've handle it.
- When it happens a few more times they dont even question it anymore, they're just use to Tim dropping everything and bolting for the shack
- They don't really understand why he does it until watching Marble Hornets and things start to click
- This happens several times to the point the twins make it an inside joke among themselves
- Stan would just see the Operator in the distance, blink and it disappears, thinks he's just a weird tourist who won't give him money
- Ford would try to study everything about the Operator but is stopped by Tim
- He does add The Operator as an entry in the Journals
- Tim says it's not worth it to study The Operator since, you know, he doesn't want another person (almost) dying because of him
- Uses Tim and the Marble Hornets videos as his source of information but even that is scarce
- Knows the symptoms, what causes them in theory, and the Operator's basic abilities
- Does not know where/what the Ark is but believes it might be another dimension where the Operator resides
- Tim later on reveals that he might have traveled to that dimension when being chased in Marble Hornets
- Ford wouldn't be obsessed with finding answers like Jay, but Tim literally pleaded with Ford not to go to deep
- Soos and Wendy never interact with him but are told about him by Tim as a precaution so they could be safe
- Gideon would see him and scheme to get The Operator on his side only for it to backfire tremendously once he realizes you can't control The Operator
- He gets out alive with a mild case of Operator Sickness but eventually the most he has is a residual minor cough as a side effect
- Anyone who encounters him would experience a coughing fit or insomnia unless they have longer exposure to his presence which can develop into severe flu-like symptoms or worse if left untreated
- Insomnia affects Dipper more than Mabel due to her Mabel Juice abomination and seemingly never-ending energy
- Sometimes they forget small things, like what they were doing a few days ago
- Coughing fits would be deemed a cold
- Bill Cipher knows of the Operator but thinks he just a stick in the mud who doesn't know how to have fun
- Would probably be one of very few entities that would and could mock the Operator and live
- Had he wanted to in Weirdmageddon, Bill could have destroyed The Operator but chooses not to because he likes that it could torment Tim
- While not able to be controlled, the fact The Operator can cause chaos by simply existing in proximity to others makes it something Bill would want to have around as a form of entertainment
- Theres not even a mutual respect between them, The Operator is akin to a saptient multi-dimensional monster that uses its abilities to lure in victims for who knows what, while Bill is a other worldly being that uses his powers for his own amusement at the expense of everyone
