How could a simple job interview go so wrong?
Donnie had spent his whole life locked away in his own little bubble, learning to become a doctor, and an engineer. He'd searched to find the man who'd killed his parents since the day he'd been placed with his aunt.
Just his luck he'd end up in a Game run by Gods no one had ever even heard of, where the only way out was death.
Leo had been alone for so long, closed down after he'd been entered into the Race. He always thought he'd be the lone survivor; the last one standing when the five years were up.
Now?
Well now he wasn't so sure anymore.

His terror was nothing like his anxiety, it wasn’t a bittersweet slide against his senses, mixed with a flurried jumble of thoughts that he didn’t even bother to pick through. It was cold, and it tasted like pins and needles, sharp in his mouth. His thoughts still flitted by at rapid speed, but they were different now, horrified.
Could he really look a child in the eyes, feel his fear, then kill him?
