Their dad had 'borrowed' Wolfram hours ago and Yuuri hadn't been allowed to come. This left the 18 year old Demon King at home, bursting at the seams with anxiety. Sure, Wolf was able to take care of himself, even without a sword, but there were still so many things about Earth that confused him! And what did his dad want with his Fiance, anyway?!
"Shouri!" Yuuri whined. He had stolen his brother's computer chair and was currently mostly upside down in it, using a foot against the desk to sway back and forth.
"I can't make them come back faster." his brother replied, not looking up from his computer. He was stuck with a folding chair. Yuuri was pretty sure the only reason he hadn't been wrestled out of the significantly more comfortable computer chair was because Shouri feared what other ways Yuuri would find to anxiously fidget.
The only reason his brother was even home right now was because Yuuri had requested it, so that his whole family would be together when he and Wolf announced they'd finally set a wedding date.
If asked to pinpoint when Yuuri had changed his mind, he would be at a loss. It had happened so slowly and gradually that he honestly hadn't noticed. And no one had pointed out that he'd stopped protesting, so he didn't even really know when that had started. Little things had just become more and more normal. You would think he'd remember the first time Wolfram had kissed his cheek before they'd left their room in the morning, but Yuuri really did just realize one day that it was a ritual he enjoyed. Same with waking up tangled in Wolfram's arms. That he was pretty sure started as an accident, at least on his part. But it felt so warm and nice, and it wasn't like there was anyone there to see them, so Yuuri had started snuggling up to him before falling asleep, too. As a bonus he found that this also resulted in significantly less punches and kicks during the night.
Instead of demanding a wedding and making Yuuri freeze up at the enormity of the very idea of it, Wolfram had started slipping little questions into casual conversation. Things like 'what do you think about this color?' 'The tablecloths at Lord von Radford's ball felt really nice, didn't they?' 'Wouldn't these flowers look adorable paired with Greta's hair?' Things like this became so normal that when Wolf asked "What do you think about a fall wedding? We can have the reception in the main ballroom." The whole image bloomed to life in his mind's eye and it wasn't scary at all.
"Yeah. Want to do it this fall?"
Wolf had only been slightly breathless when he replied "Okay."
So after working the castle up into a tizzy of preparations, they ran away to Earth to let his parents know. Mom had been ecstatic, of course, immediately tangenting off into talks on what she could wear. Shouri had looked resigned, but had given Yuuri a smile when he caught his eye. Dad-
Dad had dragged Wolf out for drinks.
Hours ago.
"You don't think he's doing the whole 'hurt my kid and I'll hurt you' thing, like in movies, do you? Because that'd be so dumb. Not only would Wolf never, but he could kick dad's ass."
"I don't know, Yuu-chan." Shouri said with a long-suffering sigh. "Maybe he's just trying to bond with him? It's usually mom he spends time with when you two are here."
"Maybe… but it's so weird! They have nothing in common!" The only thing he and dad seemed able to bond over anymore was baseball, and Wolf barely tolerated it when he rambled on about it.
The front door opened downstairs and Yuuri essentially fell out of the chair in his haste to get up.
"Uma-chan, where have you been?!" their mother scolded from downstairs as Yuuri scrambled to get his feet under him.
There was the sound of someone stumbling up the stairs and by the time Yuuri got out of his brother's room, Wolfram's head was just peeking around the turn.
A lopsided but no less bright smile broke across the blonde's face at the sight of him. "Yuuri!" Wolfram seemed to cheer before missing a step and nearly falling. Yuuri dashed forward to help him the rest of the way.
"Oh, jeez. What did he do to you?"
"Mmm 'm a bit drunk."
"A bit?"
Wolfram snickered at his tone, leaning heavily into his side. "I told 'im you'd scold me. 'E said- he said Mama Jennifer would scold him too."
Yuuri could hear that happening, for sure. "I'm not scolding you. I was just worried."
"Why? I took good care of- of your dad." Wolfram said with a nod that made him stumble a bit.
"It wasn't him I was worried about, dummy." Yuuri sighed, managing to balance Wolf against his hip long enough to open the door to his room.
Wolfram was grinning when he looked back at him. "Me? You worried about me?"
"Of course I worried about you. You're my fiance." he said, plopping the blonde down on the small, twin sized bed. He really should talk to mom about an upgrade, though Wolf often said he liked how cozy it was.
"I'm not a cheater." Wolf said, being no help at all as Yuuri struggled to get the green button down that the blonde was wearing off of him.
"I know you wouldn't cheat." Yuuri assured with a smile. No one was as loyal as his Wolfram. "I'm not a cheater either."
"Hmm." Wolf hummed, dopey smile back in place. "Cause you're gonna marry me~" It was said in such a sing songy way, Yuuri couldn't help a small laugh.
"That's right." he said warmly, finally able to toss the button up aside. "I'm going to marry you."
Wolfram grinned and pulled Yuuri into a kiss before he could start on the t-shirt.
Even though he had spent so long refusing to admit he had ever thought about Wolf that way, Yuuri had always thought all of Wolf's kisses would be fiery and passionate. Sometimes they were, and sometimes Yuuri let himself be swept up in them. Let Wolfram lead him to a heaven only an angel like him could provide.
But, most of the time, Wolfram's kisses were gentle and sweet. Soft lips moving tenderly against his own, making Yuuri feel like he was something treasured and cherished.
This kiss was sloppy, and wet, and tasted like sake, yet Yuuri still felt loved.
Wolf broke the kiss by falling backwards and Yuuri had to drag him back up by his arms so he could finish changing him. "Dad didn't… say anything rude to you, or anything, did he?"
"Why'd he be rude?" Wolf asked, this time obediently lifting his arms so Yuuri could pull off the t-shirt. "Why're you getting me naked, Yuu~ri?" he asked with an attempt at his seductive smirk. It was a bit too wide and his eyes too unfocused for it to actually be effective. "Are we going to have sex?"
"Not when you're this drunk, we're not."
That made Wolfram pout. "Thought you weren't gonna scold me."
"There's a difference between scolding you and refusing to have sex with you when you can't consent."
"I always consent with you, though." Wolfram argued, nearly smacking Yuuri in the face as he wrapped his arms around his neck.
"Don't care." Yuuri said, stretching to reach the pajama top Wolfram had been using. "Besides, my whole family is home. Shouri's right across the hall. And these walls aren't made of stone."
Wolfram heaved a put upon sigh, letting Yuuri remove one of his arms from his neck to slide it into the pajama top. "Fiiiine."
"Everything went okay with dad, though?" he asked, getting his other arm in.
"Yeah. 'e said we were celebrating. Donno why now, we've been engaged for ages…" Wolfram scrunched up his nose as Yuuri worked on buttoning the shirt. "Sake tastes gross."
Yuuri snorted at that. "Why did you drink so much of it, then?"
"It felt like a challenge." Wolf said with a shrug that made him sway. "Didn't wan' my dad to think less of me."
Yuuri looked up at that. No one talked much about Wolfram's father. Yuuri wasn't even sure how much his fiance remembered of the man. He knew he had died when Wolf was younger, but given that Wolfram was actually in his 80s, 'younger' was a pretty wide playing field. "You don't have to worry about that, Wolf." Yuuri said gently, running his fingers through gorgeous - though slightly mussed - blonde hair. "Dad couldn't ask for a better addition to our family."
"Really?" Wolf asked, eyes sincere despite their glassiness.
"Really. You are absolutely amazing, Wolf." Yuuri said, leaning forward to kiss him, this time. "You don't have to let him get you drunk on alcohol you don't even like."
"Mm. I told 'im next time he's buying me the best wine he can find."
That made Yuuri laugh and knock Wolf over with a light shove. "I'm going to take off your pants, now, but we are not having sex!"
"So boring." Wolf grumbled, even as he reached up and snagged Yuuri's pillow to cuddle. Yuuri shook his head as he slipped the khakis down Wolfram's pale legs.
"Don't fall asleep, yet. You should drink some water first and take some medicine so your hang over isn't so bad."
"I don' get hangovers." he murmured into the pillow as Yuuri slid the pajama pants up, lifting him enough to get them over his hips.
"Maybe not with the amount of wine you usually drink, but I don't think I've ever seen you this drunk, and sake is different then wine."
" 'm not that drunk." Wolf argued, curling around the pillow now that he was changed. Yuuri just sighed, shaking his head before kissing his temple.
"I love you."
