Ella and Anastasia have a very good relationship.

Work Text:

Ella was nervous. She was about to meet her niece. Well, step-niece, but niece nonetheless. After the original four villain kids, or apparently as they were know at Auradon Prep, "VK's", had come over, they were bringing more kids. She wasn't upset about this, like some other people were, but she was nervous. Dizzy Tremaine, daughter of Drizella, had been chosen to come over. And Ella was about to meet her. She had planned to meet her earlier, but then Audrey had gone crazy and stolen Maleficent's scepter and put everyone to sleep. Now, she was finally making the trip to Auradon Prep to meet Dizzy. During the car ride she thought about what Dizzy might be like. She had seen glimpses of her on TV and she had heard some things Evie had said about her, but she was still nervous. Would Dizzy hate her? Drizella and Lady Tremaine sure did. She wasn't sure about Anastasia though. Last time they had seen each other she hadn't, but Ella hadn't been able to stop King Adam from banishing her, or her toddler and unborn child, to the Isle of the Lost. At first she had, but then the king had revoked his decision and banished her and her kids anyway. Would Anastasia hate her for that? She hoped not, but she wasn't sure.

"Your Majesty? We are here." the driver said.

She glanced up. "Thank you." she replied and stepped out of the car. She had contacted Dizzy earlier that week and had arranged to meet up today in the courtyard. She looked around and spotted someone sitting alone at a table. Her clothes and hair matched Dizzy. She took a deep breath and walked over.

"Hello?" she asked the girl. "Are you Dizzy Tremaine?"

She looked up and her eyes widened. "Yes." she replied. "Are you-Cinderella?" she asked hesitantly.

"Yes." Ella replied "you can call me Ella if you want though."

"Oh." she hesitated. "You can sit down. If you want."

"Thank you." Ella sat down at the table. They both sat there, not talking, just taking in the fact that the both of them were sitting there, together.

"Auntie Ani talks about you." Dizzy said suddenly. "Not in a bad way. She tells stories about you and says that she misses you."

Ella was shocked. She had expected Anastasia to hate her. "Oh. I miss her too. It was nice talking and hanging out with her."

Dizzy smiled. "Yeah. She talks about lots of fun stuff you did together. She also defends you when Mother or Grandmother talk badly about you."
She definitely wasn't expecting that. Her surprise must have shown on her face because Dizzy also said, "She doesn't hate you. She knows you did all you could in keeping her of the Isle and she appreciates it. She actually wrote a letter to you, and asked me to give it to you, if possible." he pulled out a envelope with the words,
"To: Ella
From: Anastasia"
on it.
Dizzy handed it to her. Ella took it. She held it for a second, and then tucked it in her purse, intending to read it as soon as she had a bit more privacy. They sat in silence for a few minutes, neither of them knowing what to say. Then, the school bell rang.
Dizzy looked up. "Oh! I have to go to class. It was really nice meeting you.
Ella smiled. "It was nice meeting you to Dizzy." Dizzy smiled and walked away, joining up with a girl with obviously dyed red hair. Another VK, she thought. Who was it? Celia, that was her name. The (younger) daughter of Dr. Facilier. Her phone buzzed and she looked down. She had a text, from Dizzy.
"It was nice meeting you. Maybe we could meet up again on a weekend at some point? If you want to."
Ella smiled and sent back:
"Of course. I can take you out for lunch and we could talk some more. Or anything else you want to do."
The reply came very soon after.
"I'd love to go to lunch. Would this Sunday work?"
"Yes it would. Do you want to go to the Mad for Tea Cafe?"
"I'd love to. Thanks."
"Of course."
Ella smiled and walked back to her car. The visit was a success, and they had another one lined up soon. She closed the door behind her and asked the driver to go back to Cinderellasburg. The car started and they were on their way. She made a mental note to read the letter as soon as she got home, as she was sure there would be tears.
