“What?” Louis probed, a smile beginning to return to his face.
“Nothing, it’s just—It’s sweet,” Claudia admitted at last, looking at him shyly from behind her diary before she let her eyes fall to the page again. A beat later she let out a dreamy sigh and said, “I can’t wait to find somebody that looks at me like that one day.”
Her statement, simple and wistful though it was, made Louis’ happiness turn to ash in his mouth.

Just a bit of speculation about how Louis and Lestat will handle the realization that Claudia may resent them after she figures out she’ll never be able to grow up.
