Summary
When Raylan arrived in Lexington he did not want be here, let alone anywhere near Kentucky, and he was most certainly ok with everything that had happened prior. The only reason he was so upset was that he was too close to where he grew up and swore he would never return to. But he couldn’t help but notice his co-worker who reminded him too much of himself when he left home, who didn’t seem to have a single person who he was close with or that cared about him beyond work, and that just brought up more memories.
So if Raylan paid attention to and started focusing on Tim, that meant that he didn’t have to focus on the shambles his life was currently in. And if maybe having someone to focus on and take care of settled him some, he definitely wasn’t saying. And it was working wonders on the kid, who wasn’t really a kid, but seemed like one to Raylan. And he responded so well to the attention, it made sense to spend more time with him. By the time Raylan realized that he was treating Tim like a pup, like his pup, it wasn’t worth bringing up and creating an awkward situation when it seemed like everyone was on the same page.
For the record, Tim would like everyone to know that he had no clue how this happened.
